There are a lot of christians that don't love other christians

true, very true.

but in my opinion?

if one cannot or does not seek out too:
1. love their neighbor as themselves
2. love as Christ loved

they might as well deconvert, because faith without love is nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:2
"And if I have propheitc powers, and undersatnd all mysteries and all knowledge and i have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing."

plus you really think we should judge Christianity based on fallible human beings? well actually appropiately put:

do you think we should Christianity, a religion about an infinite being, based on finite being?

God Bless you! <><

well i feel for ya. if your going to rely on human beings to show you real Christianity, have fun in the faith :D

i only say Christianity is love because of Christ and what He did(meaning beyond His death, but we'll include that as well if need be :) )

the part of human beings that come into it for me is, i also see how God reaches beyond our exclusive little club of Christianity, and see other major leaders of other religions do the same thing of loving their neighbors as themselves, and showing the fruits of the Spirit.

so those human beings that say, "I am a Christian" have all the deep theological stuff in their head, but can't obey simple commands, i'll love them as best as i can, and scratch them off as some definition of what it is to be christ-like.

anyways, i didn't mean to get the thread detered. if you want to strikerchris, please feel free to pm me with your next response so we don't detere from the OP. :) God Bless!

idk means "I don't know" if that's the question you were askin' there :p

I think a good phrase came out of the movie, "The Italian Job"...

"I don't hate the person, just the devil inside them."

NOT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY!

But the reason I say it's a good phrase is because though a person may kill and kill, or rather I should say, sin and sin, you shouldn't hate the person for the action they did, rather, you should hate the action, not the person.

I love the killer, not the killing.

I may not have worded that right, but I'm sure it's common sense to get the gist of it^^

so you're saying that being a Christian is to be one who feels remorse at all times for what you have done?

No. Jesus Christ said "repent". What does that mean to you?

1 John 4:7-7 "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

I guess we need the definition of love.

As humans do we do the definition of love at all times?

The question was define christianity in one word. Love is a universal word that means many things to many people. A muslim is capable of love does that make him a christian?

To feel remorse, contrition, or self-reproach for what one has done or failed to do.

Basically it means to feel bad for something you did.

Anyone could steal something and feel bad about doing it, knowing it was wrong.

Another way of putting it is to make a change for the better as a result of remorse or contrition for one's sins.

Again, someone is a habitual theif, they know it's wrong, so they can try to stop doing this because they feel bad for doing it.

Even a heathen can repent.

Ok, a definition on love, I will use the greek word for the sake of it being ONE word.

Agape.
It means Unconditional Love.

Don't love because someone gave you something, did something for you, just love them.

There are other loves too, philo (brotherly) and arias (physical).

So Christian best described in one word is a greek word. Agape.
