The Church would be more consistent in this matter if they excommunicated the parents. But what is happening, according to the information available, is that the parents who are sinning are welcomed at communion in the Church but the Children who simply exist are not allowed in the Catholic school.Yes and yes it should be discounted. Why read something that's not faithful to the Church?
You will notice that Church approved writings have a nihil obstate or an imprimatur on them..
Let me ask 2 questions. Do you think God would have allowed this in OT times? How would Moses or Joshua react? Do you think God would have allowed this in NT times? How would Jesus, Paul, or Peter react?? In the first they would be stoned to death for profaning God and hung on a tree, and the latter they would be warned to turn from their ways and if not be excommunicated and shunned until they amended their ways. What about the early Church? They would not even be allowed NEAR the altar or even be given the opportunity to be catacheumens until they did public penance for a few weeks.
There is no consistency nor logic to this.
