Deeper Fellowship member intro and Guidelines for posting

Hello All, My Name is Elshevia. I am a Mature lady, a Retired Midwife, and a Grand-Mother of 5, and Love the Lord with every fibre of my being. I believe in the written Word, as the Sword of the Spirit, and use it as we are told to in Ephesians 6-14,I have been with C/F for about 3-4 years, I am looking for People to pour out my Passion for Yeshua, without them lifting their eyes skywards, anyway May I wish all on C/F a very Happy Christmas, and a happier New Year, I am of to stay with my Daughter for Christmas, God Bless all. Hi everyone,
My name is Josh and I joined CF in August of 2011. I have been lately having this thirst for more knowledge and wisdom so I have been trying to read more and more of the word. I'm also trying to walk closer to God and I really want to know as much about Him as I can.

Besides praying and reading the Word, what are some other things we can do to improve our relationship with God?

Also, can anyone suggest any good Christian books for teenagers?

A Book by Pastor Bill Johnson entitled: Strengthen yourself in the Lord, with the subtitle; How to release the hidden power of God in your life; is a book I would recommend to you if you wish to develop your personal relationship with the Lord.

We Christians can sometimes have a tendency to read books that tells us about God without actually knowing him in a real sense. Since knowing God by way of personal encounter is the Key to a successful and fulfilled Christian life, I would suggest you seek personal encounter with God; rather than knowledge about God.

The above mentioned book will help you on a exciting journey into knowing God in very real way.

A prayer book to be considered; Prayers that avail much by Germaine Copeland; She is not assoc. with the
Kenneth Copeland ministries. You can find it on line or at any Christian book store. it taught me to pray. It iss the Scriptures in prayer form. Respectfully; Parsonsmom

There is a little book titled "God Calling." Best example I know of prophetic prayer. A most important lesson about prayer is that it is mostly listening, not speaking. The most scriptural direction for prayer is to meditate on a commandment that is written in the scripture, perhaps one from the law and the prophets, or something from the Sermon on the Mount. Ask God to speak to you personally about what He wants you to do about this commandment. If you turn away from this discipline, God in scripture promises not to hear any prayer you pray. In fact, He will count your prayer as an abomination. Not good.

This sort of prayer will help you get the most out of this forum. You will need to ask Him about both about what you read, and what you post. You will need to know His voice in these prayers, and to wait on Him to answer. There is a very great temptation here to trust our knowledge of good and evil, and to think more highly of ourselves than we ought.

So you know, I asked God what to post, and the above is what He told me to write. But, as prophecy, it needs to be judged by other prophets. What are you hearing from His mouth? That's what I am talking about.
