The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

My counselor told me that he does not care. I really don't find him that helpful. Sometimes, by talking to him, I feel worse. The youth leader at our church. Our old youth leader is nice, but I am afraid that he will tell my parents. Some people tell me that it makes me less of a christian and that people who injure themselves are going to hell. I just need to find someone to talk to who will not tell my parents. Cutting is my onlt way of releasing stress. Thanks for the support from everyone!sparrow said:Your counsellor does not care, and he told you that?
Hmm.. Do you find him helpful? Or is he just one of those counsellors who keeps a considerable amount of professional distance?
If you need someone to talk to about your SI, your feelings, whatever, then I'm always here. I'd love to support you. Feel free to PM me and I have MSN too so add me if you want to chat (my addy is in my profile I think).
SI is a hard secret to keep... It makes it so difficult to bear. Do you have a caring youth leader or anything who you could talk to? But make it clear that you do not want your parents involved?
*hugs and hugs*

Thank you!!! I will try this! God Bless.doglover said:hey! Maybe you could try talking to someone at the hopeline. It's a wonderful Christian organization that help teens (and adults) with SI, suicide thoughts, family problems, etc., etc., etc. The number is: 1-800-394-HOPE (4673) or you can talk online to someone (everyone there is trained to help ppl with these problems) at www.teenhopeline.com. Just click on "live person". These ppl really care, and will direct you back to God and the Bible. Please give it a try! I hope this helps, and you are in my prayers.
