  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi.

I want to get opinions on this article:

To all the Atheists out there:

Did you know that the very existence of a living God can be proved using logic in under 2 minutes!!

So open your eyes and use an open mind to determine the facts of creationism as well as the logic of it.

Let me explain:

When observing a live body and a dead body, you will notice that both are physically identical. The dead body performs no operations, but both it and the live person have a nervous system, bone structure, and full set of organs. It is essentially comprised of basic proteins forming each of the 3 trillion cells in the body.

Thus, life cannot be physical. If it were, then the correct combination of human parts would render the person living. The dead person would not be dead at all if life were physical since it has a bone structure, nervous system, and organs all perfectly positioned.

It is also important, at this point, to note that life is not the result of chemical processes in the organs of our body. Scientists recently conducted an experiment whereby they recreated the chemical processes in a dead rat and used its brain to receive and transmit information exactly the way it is supposed to. The brain and rat, however, were not alive. Life is best described as being in a state of awareness.

Thus, if life is not physical, the humans cannot create it in a lab, or elsewhere, since our bodies are physical. As much as we put proteins, etc. together, we cannot make a living cell. We may be able to make a cell, but it won't be alive.

What follows is that life cannot create itself either. If the pieces of a cell or body were all in exactly the right places, at exactly the right time, then it still would not be alive. Once more, the dead body can be used as the example here.

The only way, then, that life can be created is by something non-physical. This proves a spiritual God. Not a particular religion, but a higher power nonetheless.

No, there will be physical traits why one is alive and the other is dead.
The dead body performs no operations, but both it and the live person have a nervous system, bone structure, and full set of organs.
There will be for sure a physiological defect explaining its malfunction which differs it from the living organism.
life is not the result of chemical processes in the organs
life is not physical
life cannot create itself either
Life is all that stated above. we observe laws how life works, so we can heal diseases. these laws are called "physical, chemical".
And life can create itself through reproduction. Life cannot create ex nihilo, if it's that what you mean ...

I would recommend you not to post the article in its current form.

I can't argue here any further in this section, maybe a mod can move this thread into the open OT forum, if you wish.

God bless,

that paragraph covers your first two points.

Life is all that stated above. we observe laws how life works, so we can heal diseases. these laws are called "physical, chemical".

These are laws about how our body functions, and how we can keep it functioning properly. These are not laws about life as such. Let's take a look at the works of the world. We have come up with laws about how gravity, our atmosphere, volcanos and earthquakes work. These are not alive yet we can mess up the workings of the atmosphere and attempt to fix it as well. It is the same sort of working with our organs.

Life is best defined in the above article, as well as in dictionaries i have seen as having a state of consciousness.

Life cannot create ex nihilo, if it's that what you mean ...
that is correct.
