Declaring something Demon posessed/related

I was wondering because I see it come up so often in discussion how other Christians discern demon possession or influence in a topic.

Is there a standard way this is done?

Relying on "common knowledge" worries me a bit because its not always right in some cases.


Someone posts something and within a few words a demon is diagnosed as the culprit. How is this done?
(not making fun of anyone, please don't take that question that way I didn't know how else to ask it,I am just curious as the the method)

I am wondering if I am missing some gift because I can only tell in person around people or places that have them. Usually if I sense it the hairs on my neck stand up and I feel sick inside and need to get away. Example- New age occult store. Even then I am not sure if it just is the holy spirit in me saying that place is not for you and maybe there is no demons there.


I have always wondered how people do it and finally got around to asking.

The only other way I could imagine it done is read post/hear persons problem go away and begin fasting, praying and reading scripture in relation to issue and wait for discerned answer to come from God.

I feel weird asking this at church and wondered if anyone knew.

I do not think it is in the least bit healthy to focus any attention on demonic activity, rather keep your focus on heavenly things...You know? Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind.

To tell you the truth I never really do think about demons, only since I started using forums online do I see it come up so frequently. I would never hear talk of them at church or in bible study, just forums. I wondered whats the go with it.

1) The person possessed will have a difficult time mentioning Jesus Christ, basically they can't say the words.

2) The person possessed cannot approach Holy images such as crosses or icons.

3) The person possessed cannot look directly at a priest/preacher and cannot stand to hear prayers or Scripture.

I would always assume D. involvement would cause a degradation of ones life the opposite of blessing as well as what you said.

i know this is a weird thread but what i was trying to work out is someone will post something about say masonry, yoga, (I asked recently about crystals) etc and all of those I have seen peoople claim demonic involvement and I was just curious to the method of working it out. I don't know this method.
