  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Has anyone actually made anything from this book and do you do so on a regular basis?

It's collecting dust and I need motivation to at least take a stab at some of the recipes.

I googled for some of the recipes when the book came out and read mostly bad reviews from ppl who made them.
I was willing to try some recipes but didn't want to purchase the books.
My kiddo's eat everything (since they were very young we had them on quite the ethnic diet) so I wanted to try it more out of curiosity than anything else.
Go! Make something and tell us how it is :D

I've never heard of the book, but I made Potato and Brussels Sprouts Soup the other night...both my girls LOVED it.

I followed my Creamy Potato Soup recipe (garlic, onions, potatoes, beef or chicken broth, salt, pepper, milk). I added halved brussels sprouts with the potatoes. And when the potatoes were soft, I blended everything up in my food processor to make it creamy.

My kids like brussels sprouts, so they didn't freak about knowing what was in the soup...but if your kids are picky, you could pretty easily blend all traces of brussels sprouts away. The soup it a pretty green color, though, lol...might have to explain the color somehow. =)

It was really easy, and REALLY yummy. We all loved it, so I'm making it again this week.
