Proverbs 26:18-19 (KJV):
18- As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
19- So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

These verses from Proverbs tell us that a man who lies and deceives his neighbor, and then claims it was a joke is like a madman throwing firebrands, arrows and death. Men live and die by words (spoken and written) and all words have power to them. Truthful words, spoken in faith, will bring about good results; while evil and dishonest words, spoken in anger and deceit, will produce bad things. The Bible warns us of this over and over throughout its pages. The words that we speak will produce the kind of fruit we shall eat [ good or evil ]

This is so true. Words have great power and if we only realised how we can make or break our fellow people with words we would use them more cautiously.

I'm so glad, once again you've posted another great example of wisdom...words are so powerful, and I have felt the flame and arrow countless times by people who think mockery and ridiculing is funny....it hurts! So i have to be extra careful, as you said, to try to build others up with good words and advice.
(why do people wonder if saying curse words are bad? if simple jests can destroy a person, as we all know, what do cuss words do?)

There are so many that think they are macho when they swear.
If swearing is macho than I don't know what I am!
My family has never heard me swear because I never did.
Never in my life have I used God's name in vain.
I will not dirty His temple. Even while in the service I lived
by His Word. This I will say I am in God's army and I will never retire.
There are no better benefits than what God gives.

I could tell you so many stories about a filthy mouth.
I'm talking about these so called Christians, they put Christianity
to shame. Believe me, they put me through the wringer.

Always remember keep your eyes focused on Jesus.
