  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

  • The rule regarding AI content has been updated. The rule now rules as follows:

Be sure to credit AI when copying and pasting AI sources. Link to the site of the AI search, just like linking to an article.

 Hi everbody

Sometimes in threads, I get messages that says somthing like "error line 23" and "request to debug" or something like that. Is there anything I can do to stop that?

Here is an example of a thread, when I click on the last post, I get these errors.

You need to empty your Temporary Internet files and Empty your cookies, this is how I take care of that problem.....
I have my Norton program save all of the cookies and pages for this site. I will try emptying the cookies first.

When you say Norton, are you talking about Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall? If you are talking about either, try dropping your firewall and then loading CF and then raiseing the firewall again. Sometimes I have trouble loading certain pages with NIS. Also, when I say empty your cookies I was talking about going into the control panel and into Internet Options and emptying them from there, you shouldn't have to mess with the Norton cookies....

I went to internet options in my browser and emptied the cookies and files.

I have Norton utilities, and that includes the anti-viral part that filters through the inernet. I think I have it set up so that Windows XP has a firewall.

Norton Utilities does not have an antivirus included....are you sure you are not running Norton Systemworks? Also, the Windows XP firewall gives you absolutly no protection at all......as for why you are now having other problems I would have to say there is corruption of some type with Internet Explorer.....do you have any search bars added to IE like "My search bar" or "yahoo companion" or "google toolbar"? I have had problems with that causing things not to view properly in the past.

Yes, that's it.

Actually it procted me from that worm virus while it was on my laptop. I used the firewall so I could keep myself on the internet. The virus was knocking me off, so I could not get updates or find out what the problem was. But with the firewall, I was able to get it off my laptop.

The firewall is good for things like viruses, but not hackers who can actively search for ways to get into my pc.

I planning to get an update.

No, absolutley not. I hate those things. They are ad-ware and they have spybots. I use Spybot Search and Destroy to keep spybots off.
