Death is a state of peace - no hassles, a sense of completion, no aches or pains. I know. I have been there and returned. All the unpleasantness is in the process of getting there.

As I am doing now, I was sitting at my computer on the dining room table when I decided to turn down the volume on the television. It was late in the evening and my wife had gone to bed. As I stood up, I experienced a strong pain and very unpleasant spinning sensation in my head. I struggled to get to a couch while stepping over my dog, who was sleeping at my feet. I knew that I was going down and barely managed to crash onto the sofa. My first thought was of an aneurism. Every step to keep my balance was tortuous and nauseating. After hitting the sofa, I knew I was dying. I lay there lifeless and not breathing that I could notice.
I knew I was dead when suddenly I felt a great sense of calm and peace. All my aches and pains had disappeared. The sense of completion was very satisfying, as if I had finished an arduous task. Later I recognized that I was still conscious and called out to my wife, to whom I wanted to say "good-bye" at least. Finally I was able to call out to her and she came asking what was wrong. I responded: "I just wanted to say goodbye".
I believe I was dead for an unknown period of time, marked exclusively by the extreme sense of calm and peace, feeling hassle free, the sense of completion and the complete absence of aches or pains, to which I am habitually prone. Now I have returned to the reality of life, which can be in many respects unpleasant and painful.
Have you seriously never heard of this before? There are countless accounts of people having died and almost entered heaven before being unexpectedly returned to the car they wrecked, the operating table they almost died on, or whatever. Read "90 Minutes in Heaven". Google it. It's a great book. That's my whole point... if you were actually dead, you would have left the body and would be entering either hell or Heaven.
You experienced neither, so you weren't dead... just unconsciousness.
So you know that I was unconscious? But I wasn't. You seem to equate unconsciousness with death. What is your authority for that? Perhaps there is none. If you are chosen, then you will not die.

Dr. D. James Kennedy thought, in light of the multitude of accounts about nearly going to heaven, there must be accounts of people almost going to hell, and he found some. I took a couple minutes to find a link on the Internet, but I'm going to have to go through literally thousands of them, but I will post it when I find it.
I didn't know that, explain 'just prior' to death.Being an addictions counselor, you are aware of the fact that the body releases DMT just prior to death, right?
Yeah, and pigs fly out our butt, too. Strassman's an idiot and a likely a fraud. There is one peer-reviewed study that observed this in cats, but no one has been able to confirm Strassman's "discovery."Being an addictions counselor, you are aware of the fact that the body releases DMT just prior to death, right?
