  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You know,

something funny just happened to me. I just learned that a very close friend of mine went to the other side yesterday in a car accident. We met when I was in undergraduate school and he played a very big role in my spiritual development. My first reaction when I heard the news was total shock. I prayed for his family, fiance, etc....and then about fifteen seconds later, I just started to laugh on the inside......because it's not like I'm never going to see him again. He was a born again Christian on fire for Christ and impacted hundreds and thousands of people....so he's up there having the time of his life, telling corny jokes to the angels and waiting for us to get up there with him. That's the great thing about being a Christian.....we don't have to be afraid of death. It's just like our friends went away on a trip because our bodies aren't us...they're just our houses. And we're not of the world anymore, so we don't have to mope and mourn for months because such and such a person is gone forever. Not saying that it's wrong or a sin to mourn, but.... it's not like we don't have hope!!! Man, being a Christian is awesome, isn't it?! :)

Thank you for sharing your reaction, it's a very nice testimony. I too am sorry for your loss, and for the grief of his family, but am so encouraged by your Godly approach.

Death of a loved one will make us unhappy. Because we are not animals, God created us with a tender heart. Sentiments will affect us. We are happy when there is love. On the death of a loved one how can we be happy? Bible also says that.
We all like to be in Heaven. For me , If Jesus call me to Heaven now I am ready, I will leave everything behind and go to Him. But My Wife and my daughters will cry , I am sure. How could they laugh at my demise since they love me so much ?.
