Prayer won't help you with this. I got good news for you: Christ already did EVERYTHING that He is ever going to do to take care of your problem and He did it at the Cross.

If you have believed the gospel of grace and are saved, you are COMMANDED to put off the old man, put on the new man, deny ungodliness and walk by the Spirit so that you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, which to tell the truth aren't going anywhere for ANY of us this side of death. It's part of our flesh in which dwells NO good thing, and that's just how it is.

First and biggest question to ask is, are you saved? What gospel did you believe?

Father, may You show this one how he can remove the "fuel" from the "fire", how he may shield himself from the heat or remove himself from the heat source. Father, show him how to take the practical steps to bridle his mind and his body, to lead them in the paths of righteousness, rather than in the way of sin. Reveal to him how the "Water of Life" can put out the fire of temptation. May he learn to feed his spirit and starve his flesh. Lead Him in the way of victory, and in the power of Your Spirit. Amen.
