  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had this dream last night... and it was strange to say the least...

In the dream I was at my house with my girl friend, Erin. In the dream we were hanging out and what not, watching television. When something happened, we were suddenly afraid and I had a sense we were under attack. Some how we knew that it was me that was the target.

Suddenly I painfully watch as I dramatically started dissolving. Erin was screaming and crying as it occurred. As it was happening I saw a demon person (I don't think Erin could see it), but it was hideous and smiled wickedly at me as it, too, dissolved.

My entire body finally dissolved and I watch from my spirit man, the rest overs (clothes) fall to the ground. I was saddened as I came to the reality that I was dead. Then after this realization, I became excited! I was going home! What happened next wasn't what I expected.

My spirit at first started to float up after it left the body, the lifting I thought meant i was leaving. I gently landed on the ground. I was confused at first... I still could sense and feel God. I didn't know why I wasn't taken up, but I didn't know what to do.

For a while I watched the events unfold after my death. I very sadly watched as Erin just cried and eventually my dad found out. Events skipped and I don't know if a year went by or what, but I so badly wanted to touch or kiss Erin again, but my hands/body went right through here like a ghost. She was still visibly shaken.

They started to leave and I knew somehow where they were going, to my grave. I started to follow, able to keep up with my dad's car. I felt I had to follow, like some sort of divine intuition. As I approached the graveyard I came a crossed a community of dead. They were like me, stuck here, but they accepted it and had a somewhat city put together. There I got to know who was there...

I don't remember much else...

Any insights?

I have no idea if this applies to you or not, but a lot of Christians think they're save, but are not. Sadly, many of them find out when it's too late, and find themselves in a similar situation as your dream illustrated.

I don't intend to get you doubting your salvation, but everyone at some point has to address this matter in one form or another.

I view your dream with interest because it sort of lines up with what I've observed regarding the death of unsaved people. It seems, at least from my experiences, that not all the unsaved go to hell directly. For one reason or another, many are allowed to roam the earth.

A couple of years ago, I listened to a testimony of a nationally reknown spiritist on the radio who deals with ghost and clears peoples homes, saying he often encounters ghosts of people who were 'fundamental' Christians. In fact, he stated that this is the largest group of the dead he encounters more than any other demographic. He explained how he encountered this one elderly caucasion women who was lamenting that Jesus didn't come to get her.

For those who question the nature of this particular entity, I have never heard of a demon saying the name of Jesus. At least not with ease.

I don't doubt my salvation, actually I've been growing more spiritually that I ever have. I don't think it pertains to this. I don't consider myself "fundamental" at all. I firmly believe in my relationship with Him and I have been developing it like a relationship and not just saying it is one.

Thanks though, what you ad to say was interesting to say the least... something to ponder about.

Anyone else want to try?

It sounds like you were thinking that you were being raptured since you became excited and thought that you were going home. Think about this, though. A demon would not be raptured. If you were dissolving like the demon was, I would seriously seek God. Maybe he is warning you that you are in rebellion over something. Maybe it has to do with something in your relationship with your girlfriend. For example, if you are in sexual sin or leaning in that direction (or any other sin). It could just be a warning. What if Bobinator is right? It really doesn't hurt anything to cry out to God and ask him to show you why he gave you that dream. If you happen to be innocent, that is just all the more reason to praise him, but if not your eternity could be at stake. It doesn't hurt, right?

Maybe it is just a dream. I have had a dream where zombies were attacking, and i was barricading the door. Then Michael Landon popped out of a cardboard box, and I was all like, "what are you doing here"? End dream.

Did you watch anything before that? Any movies, shows, etc? Sometimes, like Michael Landon, elements of what we've recently experienced can pop up in our dreams. I had been watching Little House on the Prarie, and had seen Shaun of the Dead recently, so guess what happened? LOL.

But IF i had to interpret the dream... I dunno. i don't think it's "people stuck on earth cuz they thought they were Christians but weren't" is plausible. And I don't trust "ghosts". I don't think they're the actual person they're meant to represent. yes, I'm implying they are "familiar spirits" so sue me.

Perhaps it was a dream meant to raise doubts in your mind? I dunno.

That's sad. Thanks for sharing it.
I humbly ask, please try to interpret my dream. :) Thank you
1. There is the first obvious conclusion, that you were able to see something that will happen in the future, while people you love now are still around you.

2. There is a second similar conclusion, that God is allowing you to see a Cratchet - type preview of what might happen, to help you make decisions and value relationships and time more seriously.

3. The sensation of disappearing could show your concern over losing your Self -- whether through relationships, through aging, through spiritual influences that seem to be good but are emotinally painful.... those sorts of disturbances.

Notice that you and the spirit were the only ones disappearing -- that you knew you were connected to the spiritual realm but the others were left in shock.

4. They mourned the loss of you. Look at whether you are starting to make choices where your loved ones would miss you, or see you as a different person than they knew. An extreme example might be a new drug habit -- (I am not implying anything) -- or joining the military -- (I am not connecting the military with drug-induced euphoria) -- or getting a job in a new town.

Or just growing up. You seemed content with what was happening, while others were panicked and mourning. This could easily represent a decision you made that everyone else is trying to talk you out of -- joining the Peace Corps or going to law school. They think they've lost you, and choose to give you closure (funeral) while you know exactly where you are.
