I think just today I fully adjusted to the recent time change. Just as water fluoridation and the theory of evolution are attempts to control our minds by communists, DST is an attempt to control our minds by capitalists. After a little research, it's found that DST was/is heavily pushed by the retail industry because it provides more shopping time. Like national "days" (Mothers Day, Fathers Day, National Free Range Pasta Day, etc.) it's a trick to get us to buy more stuff. Is this really a good reason to tamper with the primal forces of nature? Doesn't Mother Nature know best?

Sorry Chesterton, but the above quote proves that God originally invented daylight saving to give the Israelites more time to belt up the Amorites. Its in the Bible!!

(As an aside: my ex wife often complained that daylight saving made the curtains to fade more quickly.)

OIC - yes, and I expect some of them tried to claim for it - a bit like when Pope Gregory XIII decreed that 10 days be dropped when switching to the Gregorian Calendar in 1582, people complained that they were losing 10 precious days of life...

I do agree about the commercialization of anniversaries and the creation of new ones as an excuse to sell more cards & trinkets.

The solar system has firmly established periods of light and dark, based on the force of gravity and I think the Law of Conservation of something or other. DST is man's attempt to alter God's plan, just as were the atheist Revolutionaries', both French and Soviet, attempts at tampering with the seven day week. I don't have to tell you how the French Revolution and the Soviet Empire turned out. Folly I tell you, arrogant folly.

I think it is a good system. May be a two-hour adjustment is even better.
We should work less in the winter time and work more in the summer time. It is natural. Nobody tells you to use the extra hour for shopping.
