I've been away for a while, and wow, the reports for SDA have piled up. The key issue seems to be cross-posting. I'm going to not post any official records for infractions today, as I clean up the messes that have happened in my absence. The key here is that you MUST choose one area and post in that one area alone. If you are constantly questioning those posting in the Traditional area, then you belong in the Reformed area. If you are hostile to Reformed posts or question them constantly, then you belong in the Traditional area. I have seen many members who have a lot of posts in each area. THIS NEEDS TO STOP.

An example of the way this was supposed to work is shown in my own example. I grew up Pentecostal, have (some) Reformed beliefs, attended non-denominational most of my adult life, was married in a (conservative) Episcopalian church and have been in Baptist churches for the past 4 years and attend Baptist seminary. So, which do I choose? I most identify with and have the fewest disagreements with Baptists, so I chose that one. I do NOT post in the other areas, even though I have ties there. My behavior does not make the rules, but are an example of how the rules are supposed to work for the Congregational Areas.

A lot of posts will be removed today. This is because of the blurring of lines and the ignoring of the past posts explaining this situation. Despite the removals, they will not be formally recorded through our warning system. I think that would be unfair, since I've been gone for a week or two. But, after I'm done, this will not be allowed anymore and posts will be subject to standard protocol and the rules. These removals will not be haphazard. The issues of peacefulness of posting, which side the poster agrees with and which side they question. Some will likely get many PMs saying "X post has been deleted", and some will get individual PMs saying that you should not post in X or Y area. This is not labeling you, as this is not the intent of the Congregational forums or the 2 specific SDA forums. This is giving you a sanctuary where you can post and discuss with people that are most like your beliefs. I am not indelibly Baptist, and feel I could relate to many congregations, yet I do not post in them despite my relation out of respect for the rules. This is what is expected of all members. Being placed in the Traditional area does not mean that you are not Progressive, and being placed in Progressive does not mean you are not Traditional. It simply means that your posts fit best with this area.

There is no reason to EVER flame anyone else. One can have all the religious orthodoxy (correctness) and all the knowledge of Scripture yet have nothing if they are not kind. (1 Cor 13:1-7)

Yours in Christ,
Dave
