Dating sites???

I'm on a 2 dating sites and I'm wondering how they have worked out for others. One is a Christian site and one is not. I have had one serous relationship and 3 or 4 short flings from the non-christian site and nothing from the Christian site. What about ya'll? Have you used them and how did they or do they workout for you?

Haven't used them myself (got married long before the net was available).

My sister did. She met her Christian husband on a non-Christian site. They are very, very good for each other. She said, very explicitly, I'm a Christian, I will not date a Non-Christian, Don't contact me if you are not (and some other things that were important to her). He noticed it and loved it. He has a long history (many years) of very close involvement with his church that backed up who he claimed himself to be. IMO, listing on the site was the best thing she could have done.

None were much good...the Christian one was full of dead profiles and the secular one was too difficult to navigate. That said, I did see a dead profile of a Christian man I'd have loved to meet, not that it helped much given he wasn't around anymore lol. I received more responses from the Christian section of the secular site but they expected me to travel vast distances to meet.

I guess they work for some people, we met online but not on a dating site.

Have you read How to get a date worth keeping? It's a pretty good book.
Some of the advice in it wasn't really up my alley, but it had some decent stuff.

A couple of people (who now rarely post) on this forum recently married people they met through dating sites.

If you consider CF's Singles forum to be a dating site, then it's an excellent one. That's where I met my husband.

I had zero success with dating sites. My wife found me on myspace though, before it became what it is now.

I am not very good with internet friendships so I do not believe dating sites would be a good option for me. I have used one but I did not find it led anywhere, a few messages exchanged but no one I wanted to meet.

I met my wife on a site for christians to meet other christians, for all purposes. That was a year and a half ago and all is well. Pm me if you would like to know it.

Don't like them personally. I've tried two with little success. My brother on the other hand found his soon to be fiance on POF of all places.
