  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Some people date, some people don't. Is there a biblical explanation for it all? Probably not, but maybe that's because the concept of "dating" probably wasn't realized back then. Times have changed, however my view on dating hasn't. Maybe it's a matter of conviction. For example, it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that watching Rated-R movies or horror flicks is sin, but God clearly tells in the New Testament that it is a sin to even talk about those things that are done in the dark, or rather in the world. So some christians watch bad movies, and some don't. I fall into the category of the Does Not Watch. Another example is secular music. Listening to Secular music is not a sin, but some christians see it as wrong, as I do. So maybe it is all up to the person, I mean think about it are you seeing it as how close to the world can I get and still be a christian, or how far from the world can I get to get closer to God? It really is a matter of how You the individual looks at it. For why I think dating is wrong, stay tuned...................

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with dating. Marriage is a long long way off for me, and I don't date to try and meet a potential marriage partner. Its fun to go out and meet other people and see if you share interests. If not you don't go out again, but if you do just keep going out and having a good time. I'm interested to know why some of you think its wrong to date. (not judging or anything..just wondering)

Your clothes are secular arent they? You still wear them dont you?

As for dating....
Watch two responsible people date and you'll find that it'll look a lot like courtship.

Dating in it's self is not wrong and it's definatly not a sin. It's what dating can lead to that creates problems. When two people court they'll have the same temptations as two people who date. It's up to them to make the right choices. The sin doesnt come from dating or courting it comes from the bad decisions a couple makes.

For me dating is what I do before I get involved in a courtship. I've read "I kissed dating goodbye" and Joshua Harris made a lot of great points. But In most cases you cant just walk up to a girl and say "hey, you're single. I'm single. Lets see if we're compatible for marrige." It just doesnt work that way in most cases. Dating is when I learn the basics about a person to see if a more steady relationship would ever work.
