I've been looking for a girlfriend since I was 14. Five years later and through a lot of lonely nights, I am still alone...perhaps God will hear my prayer one day

I've noticed in my own experience that whenever I've been actively looking for a girlfriend nothing happens. It's only when I give up and just start doing my own thing that I'll stumble into a relationship. It's too bad though that I wasn't more discerning in the past, I just took each one as it was without really considering what I was looking for and what kind of relationship I should be seeking...

I know this threads been going a fair while but I'm in well i've been in for the last 6 years, but spaced out probebly hit the nail on the head. If your not comfortable being single then you'll be to clingy when your with someone.

huh, ok, so here i go, with my new problem. if you remember me from before...WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back ago, i had been crushed by a girl, and you guys helped me out back then, and that was super cool. but now a new problem has arisen. so about a month ago i went and hung out with this girl that i met on a mission trip. she was pretty cool, and she was a senior in high school. and i was gonna be a sophomore in college. so i thought, eh the age isnt that bad, and the first time we hung out it was kinda rocky, cause we didnt know each other that well...she was quiet...i'm not. what can i say. but the second time was after another mission trip i went on, and we ended up having a really nice time from what i recall. we went to the zoo, and the mall, and the barnes and noble and the Christian family bookstore and on and on...anyways...here's where it kinda gets odd...so she just had her birthday...and guess how old this senior in high school is. yup, you got it. 16...i'm 19..and i know that doesnt seem like much...but this is kind of a critical part of a person's development process of aging and maturity right? and i mean she's already VERY mature for her age...but still. and i am about 99.9999% sure she really likes me, because...well she gave me this stuffed animal on our second time hanging out...and i was like....this is cool...but i dont know if this is gonna work...because i'm gonna be going to college...like...tomorrow. but i am kind of fond of her...although she is very much so younger than me...anyone want to give me some advice? i mean she's cool...but all i can garuntee right now is friendship.

Oh yeah...friendship is a good way to go on this one. At sixteen, she's going to be going through a great deal of maturing and you can never be assured of what a person will mature into. Trust me on this one.

Trust God with it and put it in His hands, as cliche as that sounds it is the absolute truth. That goes for the kissing thing too. I think it would be great to be someone's first kiss, but if you haven't kissed, save making out for marriage. I know some would disagree, but I think even that can get some people really aroused, so just be careful there, not that you won't ever get turned on around someone, but provoking it further is just not good

I got some exciting news tonight! My friend who is from Nigeria said that she wants me to go to a Nigerian celebration. She said that they celebrate just about every occasion and she told me she will invite me to the next celebration she hears about. She is also a Christian. It is such a blessing to have a friend that has come from a different culture so that I can learn. She is planning to try and go home to Nigeria to visit her parents and brothers next year, so I asked her if I could go kind of jokingly and she said sure and she wasn't joking! I really hope I can go! I will be working by then so I'll actually have money!

As a side note, the Canadian male diver Alex Departie (sp?) is a hottie.

No dear, don't do that. If you must go there, make it a weekend or something.

I like to think of Canada as America's attic. You forget it's there most of the time, but when you go up there it's like, "Wow...look at all this stuff!" (Thanks to Kathleen Madigan for making me laugh at that one...)

Anyway, I can't think of one way in which Canada is worthy of my residency. They can't afford me.

Waah, looks like no trip to Japan for me; my friend left today, his entire schedule was bumped forward a month so there's not enough time to save for a ticket... Ah well, I'll just have to figure out something else to do for my vacation!

Well, I sure am a dateless waif again this weekend! This morning I was thinking I had several options for things to do over the weekend. Then I realized most people have plans. My best friend invited me to hang out with her and her boyfriend because she knew I didnt have anything to do (as usual lol), but I decided not to go because I really HATE being the third wheel. It sucks. Even my own brother ditches me for his girlfriend. It really makes me angry. My friend in Iraq signed off when he saw I got online today...not a good sign. What started out a good day has turned into not such a good day. I'm going to bed. Hope everyone found something to do this weekend.
