spacedout - you gonna post some pics when you get back?!?!

hi everyone! how's it going today? while we're on the subject of vacations, i'm thinking i'd love, love to do the backpack through Europe thing. has anyone done that already?
Easy there, lilray! ;) I don't even know if this is going to happen for sure yet. If/when it happens, I'll definitely take some pictures. Be forewarned though-- I still haven't developed my pics from last October's trip to NYC, so they may be a little slow being developed... :p

I've been to Europe but didn't backpack it-- that would be such a blast!

I want a date... :( It's kinda hard to find any Christian gamer geeks around here, though... especially ones who will get away from Dungeons and Dragons and Quake long enough to go camping or something. :p

Did someone say gamer geeks? *head perks up* It seems that the difficult part might be finding Christian gamer geeks who live close enough to you to make such a thing possible. When you find one just tell him you need to get some inspiration for the big wilderness campaign you're planning and you could use some help brainstorming... ;)

On a semi-related note, dating a gamer can be a dangerous thing... I ran a D&D group for about 3 years in college that included my at-the-time gf; boy, was I ever walking on eggshells if anything bad happened to her character!

Dangerous indeed. I had a boyfriend once that was big into D&D. He was on his way home from an all night campaign at 5:00 in the morning, fell asleep at the wheel and wrapped his car around a tree. Had to go through some serious physical therapy for about a year and still has some pretty nasty scars.:(

You dungeonmasters are the nuttiest ones of all! ;)

Yikes!

I guess I'm pretty fortunate in that I haven't had many "endurance groups" like that-- my gaming groups have usually been pretty moderate in that regard. The last FRP group I played in was into marathon sessions though, and what a nightmare that was; for all the horsing around and needless chatter, our 9-10 hour gaming sessions could easily have been compacted into about 4 hours of actual play. Talk about frustrating...

Hi guys, I'm signing up :| I'm 22, and not only have I never had a boyfriend but have never even been asked out on a date, for my phone number or have had a guy come up to me just to say "hi". I'm not just sitting around waiting for the guy, I've approached three guys myself and have been rejected. One guy took one look at me, scrunched his nose and just walked away, couldn't even dignify me with a "no". So yeah... kinda don't even want to meet someone, I'm too embrassed to tell a guy that at 22 (or at the rate I'm going 44 ;) ), not only is he my first boyfriend but also my first date ever. :o Anyway.. sorry I'm just feeling sorry for myself, it's Friday night and my three friends are off hanging out with more interesting people and my 18 year old sister is out with her boyfriend :sigh:

Hmm. being a gamer myself, it seems to me that the issue there was that she didn't seperate the game play from the relationship. Not very fair.
