Yay! Congrads! I will be dateless once again as my boyfriend was in a car wreck Tuesday and hurt his neck. I don't think he's up for fourth of july activities. Maybe I'll stop by and pamper him :) Prayers would be appreciated.
I am very sorry to hear that L4H. I hope and Pray that he heals quickly. Neck injuries can be very hard to get over.

Hey lilray tell me about these fish tacos?? Being a mid-westner I don't know anything about them. I know about Corona but what is Pacifico, where is it brewed??
Fish tacos are soooo good! They're made with pretty much any fish but usually it's mahi mahi, wahoo or snapper out here. Fish is fresh off the boat and seasoned, grilled and served in a corn or flour tortilla with a white sauce, shredded cabbage and fresh salsa.. sometimes guacamole too. (The white sauce is a mix of chilis, mayo, yogurt, lime juice and spices.) It's awesome! Fish can be beer-battered and fried or grilled.

Really? There's no Pacifico where you are? It's a Mexican beer (called Pacifico Clara) served with a lime like Corona.. I actually like it better than Corona - got a little more flavor. If you ever go to any of the southwest states, I'm sure they'd have it. :)

Fish tacos sound good. Later tonight I will let the search engine do it's thing and come up with some reipes for them.
Next week I will head out to Ann Arbor, they have a store that just stocks beer and see what I come up with.

You are the man! You're all over it! I haven't been able to find a recipe as good as the taco stands for white sauce... but it's fun trying them out. If you find a good recipe, let me know.

Well, all my dear waiflets... I'll be on vacation beginning tomorrow and returning next Saturday night. I might pop in once or twice, but I might not. ;)

Everyone go on a date!
Or miss me terribly until I get back.
Ideally, you'll do both. :D

Everyone have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend. Be careful with those dangerous (but strangely alluring) explosives!

Hi. I'm dateless because I'm way to shy and I talk to guy friends and since I don't want to date my guy friends...
Being shy is one of the largest, maybe the largest obsticle to finding a mate. I used to be quite shy(I'm sure you can all imagine:)). What got me over it was a job at Safeway(a large grocery store). Part of my job as a grecery clear was to make eye contact, smile and say hello to every single person within 10 feet of me. It worked like a charm. I got so used to talking to complete strangers that my shyness almost became extinct. It never completely goes away, but I've learn to suppress those feelings of shyness and talk to whomever I wish to. It's nothing for me when I see an absolutely beautiful person within shouting distance of me, to walk up to them, smile and say hello. I'd say that 99% of the time, that they smile and say hello back. For anyone who is shy, go into a mall for a couple of hours and do nothing except for practicing making eye contact and saying hello to every 10 people that you see. Don't even worry if they are holding someone's hand and walking with them...say hi to them both! It makes you happy and more confident because you're talking with other people, and it makes everyone that you talk to smile!!! You've brightened up multiple people's day and helped to boost your own confidence. Once you're doing this, you don't really even need to start conversations so much, because people will just start talking to you! (or some reason I have a lot of random conversations with people of retirement age.:D)

The most attractive thing about someone is a warm smile and a confident voice. Always smile and talk like you know what you are talking about, even if you don't. Never second guess yourself outloud. I once got a date with a complete stranger because she saw me smiling as I was talking to my friend on a cold miserable day. She walked up to me and started talking about how seeing me smiling warmed the day up a bit.

Make someone smile today!:)

Thanks for the advice! But...I have not prob talking to strangers. I even was one of those people who greets you and gives you the ballot on election day! (deputy returning officer)
It's that gap between casual friend and close friend that's scary for me! It's a huge, scary gap! I mean, with casual friends, you talk to 'em when you see 'em and go out in big groups to, like, Tim Hortons or the movies, or to video-marathon parties. But then...when a person becomes a close friend...it just seems so much scarier. And if that includes some flirtyness, then I'm probably just going to ignore the poor guys, or act like he's just "one of the group". Ouch. I know. :sigh:
