CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh Wow! Thanks for posting, I did not even know about this-I used to watch the TV show everyday when I came home from school & nobody's going to do it better than DEPP. (Wonder if he'll get Keith Richards in on this one

I don't know but does anyone see who is playing Quentin?? I at first thought Depp would play him and was surprised he is playing the Vampire instead.

Yes,it is. AMC had it on 2 years ago as in a rerun and I watched most before it got cut off..then Chiller picked it up. I would have loved this show if it had been on while I was growing up. My grandmother loved this tv show as did my aunt & mom. I guess it ended due to alot of pressure that kids were practicing witchcraft (lol) wow. Harry Potter nowadays an they were worried about 'witches' and 'vampires' then!

I only watched it a few times and that was way back in the 60's when it first came out and I was a stay at home mom. I remember it as being especially unique then; not because of the content, as there were lots of movies out about vampires, etc.: but because it was a semi-horror soap. And soaps were usually all about romances, domestic struggles, and love tri-angles, crisis, etc. (just as now) back then. I think it might have been in color; but we had a b/w set then as did most young couples just starting out. Joan Bennett, a Hollywood movie star in the 30's and 40's, e.g. the original Little Women with Kathyrn Hepburn, was the female lead. Soaps and some dramas were filmed and shown "live" then, not pre-recorded. She kept forgetting her lines which sort of messed things up; but she was the best known star on the show; so they kept her on there. I went to work days and so lost track; but I think it got much better after I signed off.

I heard the reason that the re-make on NBC in the 90's didn't make it past one season is because it got lost in the shuffle when the first Iraq war broke out. Everybody focused on the war and lost interest in t.v. shows like this one. I think my two favorite shows back then were Dark Shadows and American Gothic.

Weird?? Most dramas like that were done live. We didn't have VHS's back then either. Another one was "Playhouse 90" which was also live every week. Also the quiz shows were live. Some shows like Dragnet were premade films though. We thought it was all great. Remember TV hadn't been around very long and most in my generation had listened to radio shows before the advent of TV in homes. (1950's) Hey, I saw Elvis Presley live on the Ed Sullivan Show. He was just starting out then.

Oh wow! I didn't know they were making this into a movie. My mom used to have this on when I came from school. I remember it took me a while to figure out they were vampires. Back then everything wasn't so in your face.

My mom just texted me that the actor that played Barnabas in the old tv show? He passed away days ago. Just letting fans know. He was in his 80's.
