I don’t know about the specific prophetic aspect, but I think a lot of what he says makes good practical sense. There's a commercial bulk supplier near me that has a walk in store. I bought 50# of stone ground whole wheat flour there for only $22, and now I'm making all my own bread, WW pancakes, etc. I never thought to buy rice, but that's a good idea too.

I think what he describes has the possibility of happening: riots, violence, no more government checks, electricity, etc.

One other thing that has impressed itself on me is the suddenness with which things can change. It's a lesson I've seen before, but as a reminder I had been noting how this has been a very cool early Summer, and then, boom, this sweltering heat hit us like a freight train. It can be that way for the economy too. Europe, the elections, Islamic terrorism – all these can bring change overnight. Already, every day there is a new depredation. Things could go south very quickly.

One thing I did like that he said was the joy he has in the Lord's presence. That's what it's all about.

I found him on the forum at KingdomWarriors - Jesus Is Coming! Repent, Trust Jesus, Live Holy! ***

I really like the fella that runs this site. He has wonderful insight into the things of God.

I agree things could turn south quickly. Riots, lawlessness, looting.. all seem to spontaneously occur in major disasters. I am so thankful that the Lord will be in it with us if the unthinkable happens before the rapture

I went out and purchased 5 of those 6 gallon water storage containers at walmart right after I watched that video. End of the month I am getting the bulk food. LOL Just a little precaution.. better to prepare so that we can help ourselves and others.

I wonder how we would make bread without electricity or gas???

I meditating on the "GUARDRAILS" and thought they were protection. Like a good thing to aid in getting out of harms way and allowing to exit quickly. I also had a dream of roads that were built with guardrails because there was water everywhere. Sometimes we think of bridges over troubled water. We are on the road safe from whatever tries to steal our faith. Praying that we pray and faint not according to Luke 18:1. The Lord really impressed this upon me 2 days ago.

I've been reading this thread with a real interest.

Back in 2008 I remember getting a tsunami like dream focusing on NY and also the emphasis on getting prepared. From then I've been getting back to basics - making my own breads etc, getting back to storing wool, and fabric materials for sewing, getting back to sewing by hand. I invested in growing fruit trees and my own vegetables. Granted it's helped me immensely now that the finances are tight but I felt there was a wider significance. I've also felt a greater move within believers to get spiritually ready - to get delivered from strongholds - a fine tuning amongst us.

The Youtube video was very interesting...

Thanks, I'm checking out that site. I got a free breadmaker from the recycling center, so I'm definitely on the grid at this point. But for most of my life I heated my house with a wood stove (which I consider to be the best heat), so that would be one way to bake. Another is via solar oven, and they look pretty easy to make.

I have prayed about leaving NY, but I'm in "hold everything as it is until you get a word" mode. My friend from KY wanted me to go down there, but I never felt the call, and now she thinks her time there may be drawing to a close. I'm not in the city or on the island, so I don’t think there's immediate great danger.

The safety aspect of guardrails would normally be my first inclination. This time I felt the constraint of them, as the cars were tightly packed on the highway. That also led me to conclude that the curve in the road characterized a difficult retreat. But maybe the difficult aspect is correct, and the rails were there to protect rather than limit. I'm not sure.

EDIT:

  • BTW, with this heat wave, the grid is down to 105V, which is a reduction of 12.5%. That is a major hit, and points to an aging infrastructure not equipped to supply modern demand. Something has to give.
  • One of my ideas was to get a small swimming pool and use it to collect roof water for use in the garden or in blackouts/emergencies. I think I'm going to resurrect that project.

If you have a composite shingle roof than it's probably a carcinogen and the water would not be entirely safe. We ran into that with our first set of rain barrels..we did not know about the risk.

My husband built a shed and put a metal roof on it to collect water into rain barrels. the total surface of the roof is 6 by 8 feet and he put a rain gutter with a down spout to collect water.. it easily fills 3 rain barrels in a good rain and the last one runs off, so a 4th one would have water in it too if we had one. The worst that could happen with a metal roof is too much zinc and that is probably not a big worry.

The solar oven sounds interesting.. will look into that.

If God tells you to stay, you will be protected.

That's a good warning, which I needed to hear. This site adds some further information, which I'll summarize:

  • Some of the petroleum-based residue detected seems to have come from road blow-by, which would affect any roof (depending on its granularity, and admittedly, composite roofs are the worst for this). My location should be fairly immune to this aspect of the problem.
  • A first-flush diverter ameliorates many problems with asphalt or any roof collection system, because the first water carries off accumulated concentrated deposits. IMO, a diverter should always be used.
  • Especially in the case of asphalt roofs, the diverter is not enough, a sand filter must also be used (this is what I needed to know).

I'm not sure if all this pertains to using water for the garden also, or just for potable water. I suspect better safe than sorry. It's also interesting to consider that the road blow-by problem would directly affect gardens on the ground, and probably even water in the clouds, so that no one in a built-up area is immune.

Someone recently posted another youtube video about a vision of what appears to be a tsunami on the eastcoast. They said that there is a theory that if the Canary Islands' volcano blows then the matter will fall into the see producing distruction up and down the eastcoast. I don't live on the coast, but if this occurs the survivors will come inland and head for the more rural areas. Only God in His infinite wisdom and protection knows how each of us should prepare for such an event.
I've lately felt led to be more prepared spiritually then to constantly be scanning for ideas and information about surviving under such circumstances. But I do have knowledge of raising and preserving food and resources to draw from at this point.

This is something I had not considered. We are kind of close to Dallas, so I imagine there is some problem with toxins. I guess we also need a flush diverter even with the metal roof. I did not know our roof was a carcinogen until we had a section replaced and I read the roof shingles wrapper. There was a warning big as Texas on there. He built the shed soon after.

Those who are not preparing....God told Noah to build an ark. He wants us to prepare for disasters trusting Him. He will tell us what to store. (As he did with Joseph) I understand people saying they will just trust in Him and not worry about preparing, but I am sure He wants us to have what is necessary so that we can help our neighbors too.

Ok, check this out: The Center for Rainwater Harvesting providing information on collecting, purifying and using rainwater making use of local materials and a full spectrum of technologies

The site is dedicated to rainwater harvesting, and the page, to roof materials. There's a bit of both bad and good news there - the bad, in that any roof material has problems, and the good, in that almost any roof except lead is probably ok, because most of the problems seem to be due to deposits. And he's speaking in reference to potable water, not merely garden usage.

A number of watchmen on the wall in America have been getting the same message . . . that something will happen July/August of this year and around election time. He told one that he is calling His people to get out of the cities. Some podcasts that address this are on TruNews.com; the April 18, 19 and 20 episodes.

Folks, I think tribulation time is at hand. America has been in judgement and will be entering the captivity phase. That's the word I'm hearing.

Ha! I love this one
"Invent a paint for gutters and roofs that is not only edible, but actually adds vitamins and minerals as it is dissolved or eroded by rainwater. " that would take some doing.

Funny how the topic has obviously drifted. I read the first few posts, then after replying to one of them, I see this. I think I'm totally like the person who is 2 or 3 topics behind the flow of conversation. lol

Hi Easy G,

Would you mind starting a new thread & giving as much detail as you remember from the dream(s)? This will enable the many gifted people on this forum to focus & tune-in more to provide helpful feedback on your dreams.

Symbolically, floods can symbolize overwhelming life circumstances, but a separate thread & more detail will help clarify whether this fits with the context of your dream.

Really, that is rich. It would be much easier to simply take a vitamin or add minerals to the garden than to go up and paint a gutter.

And that points to the realization I had this morning. Even though that site is dedicated to rainwater harvesting, and has a lot of useful information, we really don't know if all his information is accurate. He might be trying to sell his philosophy at the cost of accuracy. (No offense to the guy, whom I don't know, I'm just making a point.) So it's always caveat emptor and play it on the safe side.
