First of all - questions are good! God can stand up to scrutiny. Second of all, look not only at Addo's specific knowledge, but his general insight. He's usually right on, and certainly is in this instance. If he's 15 years old you should find that very encouraging! The Bible IS understandable.
Have you read the whole New Testament? Please don't tackle the Old until you have all you questions from the New answered, except for Revelation. If you're that far and really ready to tackle the OT, you need to acquaint yourself with hermeneutics. Personally, I find ALL the really challenging passages are there specifically to MAKE us "sound out" G-d, to force us to get to know Him.
Times come when we need that.
