Thanks for humble reply.
Your right, I did not include justification for averaging out the chrono-genealogies of Gen 5 & 11 because inclusive counting is the standard way the Bible and the Hebrew people count. But for some strange “tradition”-al reason these Gen numbers are counted exclusively instead by learned people .
However, the standard Biblical way of inclusive counting is/should be self-evident from within Genesis itself and in Noah`s flood account itself. For God`s word in the MT, LXX and even in the SP (Samaritan Pentateuch) below.
6 And Noah WAS SIX HUNDRED years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. 7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and from all thing that creep-eth upon the earth 9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as LORD had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. 11 IN the SIX HUNDRED year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
God Himself counts Noah`s years inclusively and not exclusively like modern day western academia. Noah WAS already 600 and IN his 600th year at the same time in the same year. Noah was (in plain modern language) 599-years and some days/months old? not 600+ ?
The usual mean-average deviation often works out about halfway = “about” 6-months on average over many lifespans. Thus 1,656-years to Noah -minus 10 x 6-months = about 1,650/1-years of Genesis Bible time.
There are several other Bible counting conventions chronologists don`t take into account when doing a whole Bible Gen to Rev chronology. If a simple traditional thing, like using inclusive counting is such a great obstacle, how can other Biblically different, “strange” historical and Eastern counting and chronicling conventions, even get a hearing? Even if explained or justified from the MT based Bible because they listen to a different voice, a different “authoritative” baseline that is of Church history or tradition or textual tradition.
Put simply, If God has indeed revealed in His word a master 6,000 + 1,000-year plan for man then this fact alone disqualifies the LXX version/s as far to long and the SP as far to short.
Unless we are both reading the same text with the same base assumptions, further explanation seams just accademic and Glorifies God in the negative.
