Daniel 3:1-3
King James Version (KJV)
3 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Nebuchadnezzars Gold Statue
3 King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue ninety feet tall and nine feet wide and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. 2 Then he sent messages to the high officers, officials, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the provincial officials to come to the dedication of the statue he had set up. 3 So all these officials came and stood before the statue King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

1 Many people it may have been built off a mountain because it only having two measurements instead of three. Gold was something of great value and he putting on a statue made it of value but he did it for worship, only God deserves worship. The statue was set on a plain this tells me it was not made from a mountain. The held great value to this statue and because he did others would be forced to.
2 Unlike people thought, he first brought his own this would have included Daniels friend since the got a position to the king. The king was proud of his statue in a way it stood for everything he had done. We can take pride in what would do but, we also need to realize we can not do things if the Lord does not allow us.
3 It is strange the absence of Daniel in this chapter but they may have sent him away because this statue may have not been built if he was around, they also may have wanted to bring down the Jewish people in the kings service by bringing them against the king or even worse bringing them against God.
