  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So... we should ONLY do things that glorify GOD? WHat about eating? Should we have fun? Or would that take time away from GOD too? What about sleeping? That takes time away from GOD.
Your questions are legitimate, but a person is better of going directly to God with questions like these rather than seeking mans opinions. But for whatever it's worth, here's what I believe.
The bible says that in everything you do, do it to the glory of God.

Eating, Jesus ate, we need it eat in order to for our bodies to perform properly, but overeating or eating unwholesome food is dangerous.

Fun, Jesus had fun, Fun to Him was having communion with His Father and lifting the hearts of fallen men and women. God wants us to experience that kind of fun too.

Sleeping, Jesus slept, the body needs sleep in order to perform properly, but excessive sleep could be a sign of laziness.

I'm in agreement with some here...varies from person to person....but I have been playing some violent games since I was a teenager and it hasnt made me want to go out and do it for real one little bit.

If you cant seperate fantasy from reality I think you have problems

These questions that start out like "What about blah blah? that takes away from GOD." need to stop come on we all know what the awser is lets not try and raise are post count with stupid things
I don't think anyone is trying to raise the post count. IMO, game playing is dangerous because it's so addictive. Lots of people spend excessive amounts of time each day playing games. Time that would be better used by eithier seeking God or serving God.

So everyone who has played violent games seems to say they are not noticeably affected but how do you measure this? How do you know how much you have been affected and what kind of ‘better’ person you could have been if you did not play those games? What do you compare yourself too? And I am not talking about the extremes like killing and hijacking but about the subtle things that change your attitude in such a way that you are simply not as happy and effective as you could have been.
