Dangerous Gamble!

Hello!
I wanted to post this because I want to tell you the truth about anime & manga.

Have you ever thought about being "bondage" or "sticked" to anime?
Like..you see your downloading going on your screen, being excited for like an hour, then watch it for another hour..then looking forward to more exciting animes later on?
For amatures (ranging about 2 month watching anime and reading manga), sure it is.
For those who were watching for like 2 years to 10 years, it's different story.

Many times now days when I commited my life to Christ, I've been thinking..what good comes from commiting my life to these "anime" and "manga"?
Probably many will say "FOR FUN!" or "BECAUSE I'M BORED" ..maybe even "I want to see some drama"
Everyone has their desire of the world and fantasy.....
do you know what's funny about it?
There is no long ranged difference between sexual immorality and desire of fantasy of people.
Sexual immorality is sin..
but...desire for fantasy?..hmmm
To me it is difficult question.

We have to know that sexual immorality is desire of people also. Desire to feel good or be excited of earthly things, resulting people to go against the Lord.
..From my experienced, either way, sexual immorality and watching anime, lead me against the Lord.
Because I was commiting my life to exciting things and amazing life I'm desiring to have.

Escape from the truth of the World...
Wants to keep myself away from the world..
perhaps wants to know more anime so that one day, I could share it with other people..
maybe..wants to fit with other people..
maybe..just for fun.

But ladies and germs!
I'm not saying anime and manga is sin, I'm saying it is dangerous gamble which gives birth to the sin.
it has done to me, and so can it be you.

Animes & manga consumes people's thoughts and imagination, making them walk towards the earthly life, not spiritual.
It is dangerous gamble! Extremely dangerous..
so just to be assured..it took me 2 years to realize this..
you will understand when you quit anime and reading manga for at least 3 month, you will come to realize what has changed..the feelings..the sensation..it's all so different and hurting.

For me animes & manga is no longer enjoyment to my spirit, but gambling my way to sin.

Good luck who accepts this messages, I also struggle to fight it off. We all do.

I've been reading/watching anime and manga for over a year and it has yet to consume my life, there are other things I'd rather do sometimes. Being obsessed is a sin no matter what you're obsessed with (unless it's God). I don't really worry about myself...

I don't really worry either. I was raised alot differently by my family. I was raised to know to worship God but not at every moment of my life. I was always told I could be aloud to be into anything I want. My mom said it isn't bad. So as you can see I am a cathlic but don't worship God everymoment of my life. I do Love and Worship him, but not constantly. And being obssessed with anime is better that being obssessed with drugs and other things as well you know.

Yes friend u do make a point. Some things are kinda sexual (homosexual, perversion) in some manga and animel. I watch anime sometimes. I like it very much. The genres I do like are Magical Girls. Some anime shows have such filth, I agree.

I was making contrast, not details..but that's true.
As I've seen, animes are becoming for perverted and annoying..same story lines over and over again.
Animes aren't amazing anymore like as before..perhaps because it was clean.

Eh, coming from someone who has been watching anime since the mid-90s, I'd hardly say I'm even slightly obsessed with it. I watch it more than domestic TV because, well, 99% - if not more - of domestic American TV is stale and boring, and I'm a fan of the animation talent itself. It's just simply better entertainment. If anyone even attempted to label me as an otaku I'd feel obligated to school them in whatever means necessary to get the point across that I'm not, by any stretch of the imagination.

And while hentai is definitely a 'threat', so to speak, so is real porn compared to regular live action media.

But like it was said before, any sort of thing a person gets too obsessed with becomes a problem. Anime or manga isn't alone in that regard. I'm fully aware of the societal differences between Japan and the US, and quite frankly, the level of temptation is about the same, give or take it being generally more upfront about it in anime. Especially since hentai is nowhere near a norm (case in point: the last episode of Excel Saga isn't hentai, but was made for the purpose of being too offensive to show on television, and it didn't air on Japanese TV for that very reason, thus proving redundantly that while Japanese societal standards toward a subject like sex is more lax than America's, it's not out-and-out debauchery). And no matter how much people want to claim the US is so terrible with sex in the media, there's no denying that we do still live in the shadow of the Victorian era, especially since America usually considers Europe worse than they are (and Europe, vice-versa, considers America far worse in violent content - at least Japan has sex and violent content balanced)
