  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone here ever have the following experience?

You are at a dance party, somebody requests a slow song, you stop headbanging and look around. You find a girl who doesn't seem to have anybody to dance with, who is just walking around, seeming bored. You ask her to dance. She says in response, "Well, I was just leaving."

It's just a dance. It's not like I was asking her to go out with me. I know she's not single but why turn down a dance? I don't understand. This frustrates me to no end. It happened to me all through high school. Then I would just cry, hating myself for not making an attempt to get a girl to dance with me, just sitting in a corner. (No, really, don't feel sorry for me on that one, I brought it on myself.) But now my ego's hurt! And I'd like to use a bunch of other words to describe it, but that would get me kicked off of here for good!

Maybe she was really leaving?

Its true; its just a dance, but I'd imagine some people are abit wary.

Your ego is hurt... hmmm. I've heard that the ego is very resilient. You'll be back to yourself in no time.

In any case, I wouldn't take it personally; perhaps she was shy, perhaps... theres an infinite number of reasons, though only a few are probably practical, and I guarantee you, the ones you are thinking of, while may having some glint of truth, are wrong.

So smile until the next dance!

Oh.... by the way.... a slow song... thats slightly more intimate then salsa. I think you know this, but I would just like to point it out again as a potential reason.

Any ways gals like guys who can dance. Apparently this gal is abit odd eh?

I'm shy so I probably would've done what she did. Also if that had've been the first time I met you, I wouldn't have trusted dancing with you. I know, I know, I'm too cautious, but hey. There's a bunch of crazies out there and you never know...

Just keep trying. Be nice and patient. The right one will come around soon. :)

P.S. We need more thoughtful boys like you. I know I would be like that girl at dances and no one cared to come up to me and ask me to dance. Oh well! I patiently waited for God to bless me and he did. I know have the sweetest man ever. <3

i'm also shy and if i didn't know you well and i was dating someone i would've done the same thing. sorry but most girls who are in a relationship usually don't dance with guys they don't know. i would only dance with my close friends sorry that's how girls are.
don't take it personal but if she's dating someone that's probably the reason and she might've been leaving too who knows.
