Daniel 6:10-12 King James Version (KJV)
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

10 When Daniel realized that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. Three times daily he was kneeling and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously. 11 Then those officials who had gone to the king came by collusion and found Daniel praying and asking for help before his God.12 So they approached the king and said to him, “Did you not issue an edict to the effect that for the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human other than to you, O king, would be thrown into a den of lions?” The king replied, “That is correct, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed.”

10 Daniel knew that did not want him to pray he knew the results of it, this is most likely where he prayed, he wasn’t going to change that now because of the law, he was not ashamed that he prayed to the Lord even if the law was against him. We are not to change the way we serve the Lord because of the laws of man.
11 So Daniel rather then not praying, prayed for God to take care of them making this law, we often times should pray for God to fix things and we don’t. They were going to make him be punished for prayer, when the laws of man come against us do we stand for God.
12 This law was just meant to be used by them to bring Daniel down because Daniel’s loyalty was to the king but was to God first. We should have nothing before the Lord.
