  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Daniel 4:28-32 King James Version (KJV)

28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

Daniel 4:28-32 New English Translation (NET Bible)

28 Now all of this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 After twelve months, he happened to be walking around on the battlements of the royal palace of Babylon. 30 The king uttered these words: “Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal residence by my own mighty strength and for my majestic honor?” 31 While these words were still on the king’s lips, a voice came down from heaven: “It is hereby announced to you, King Nebuchadnezzar, that your kingdom has been removed from you! 32 You will be driven from human society, and you will live with the wild animals. You will be fed grass like oxen, and seven periods of time will pass by for you before you understand that the Most High is ruler over human kingdoms and gives them to whomever he wishes.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

28 The prediction came true because it was given from the Lord and everything that He says comes true sometimes it is just a matter of waiting.

29 It would happen in a year’s time. It is not in our timing that things happen but it is in God’s timing.

30 This shows that even after the prophecy the king was still prideful and did not recognize God as allowing him to be king. It is important that we are humble, and give God all the credit.

31 God removed the kingdom from him; this shows who was really in charge of things.

32 God word would happen and the judgment would be given to the king for him not serving the Lord but making himself to the level where he saw his gods but God is always on a higher level than we could put anything it just isn’t where we put him sometimes. If we are putting ourselves higher than Him, we are not allowing God to be where we should be.
