Daniel 3:28-30
KJV 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. 29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. 30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
Daniel 3:28-30New English Translation (NET Bible)
28 Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, Praised be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent forth his angel and has rescued his servants who trusted in him, ignoring the edict of the king and giving up their bodies rather than serve or pay homage to any god other than their God! 29 I hereby decree that any people, nation, or language group that blasphemes the god of Shadrach, Meshach, or Abednego will be dismembered and his home reduced to rubble! For there exists no other god who can deliver in this way. 30 Then Nebuchadnezzar promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

28 The king was given God praise but would not make Him his Master because he would have changed which would not happen. We see that he refers to the figure seen in fire as an angel this does not mean it was not the Lord. Whether is was an angel or God, The Lord was the one that allowed them to be rescued, the figure in the fire was there to show the king that it was by Gods hand that these men were saved from the fire. Christ saves us from the fire. The king even credits that their faith in God caused God to save them. The king knew their sacrifice and knew it was worth it for them.
29 This allowed worship and honor to God to continue and prevented anyone for being punished for worshiping God, this only was while Babylon was in charge this changed when Persia took the throne and Daniel would go to the lions den for prayer.
30 They were put in a place of respect because of their faith; the king would do this and be done with this, never turning to God. We may not receive honor here for our faith but it will all be worth it when we see Him in glory.
