  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok now, we're going to continue to discuss my issues with christianity. No one get mad please. This is ment to be a descent discussion.

Now, I don't agree with christianity because it seems so comercialized, Leviticus 20:13, the idea of hell and scaring people into believing (aka scare tactic), and the fact that paganism had been around for thousands of years before jesus was even born.

Oh and I ment to add that the pagan male horned god was taken and made into your devil/satan dude to show that paganism is evil.

Which in fact, paganism teaches peace & harmoney with your fellow humans and with nature. You can't deny that it's a very good relgion that teaches good values and morals.

I am certain that there is much to be talked about with regard to your topic, dallaskeen.

I have made it no secret that I am not able to speak with my friends here, verse for verse with regard to the Bible. I have Faith and I cannot even define exactly what that means and I will not try and do not preach to anyone.

My whole Philosophy in life, revolves around the idea that I have no more answers than anyone else. (My mind is wide open and I wish to hear you, my friend.) :)

let me start by saying welcome to the site.
The bible contains things we must obey to, such as Homosexuality and gambling. Some of these things sound unfair, such as no sex before marriage, God didn't do these rules for the fun of it, we sinned and brought this all amongst ourselves. Now i want to have sex with girls, but God is telling me to wait, i dont go off in a tantrum and get angry, i accept it, as im lucky to be alive, im lucky to even have a chance to be with God thanks to jesus

Secondly i dont know much about your religion, and perhaps it is older than and well before my God came on the scene, but the Bible says clearly not to worship other Gods as they are idols. Now many people believed in Greek Gods such as Odin and all that stuff, the bible tells us that they are idol and worthless gods.

Thirdly there is no evidence to say that your Horned god was turned around to look like our satan, even if it was, i dont believe satan is a horned red devil with a fork, i belive thats symbology and its a symbol that mankind has made up, so you cant say that christianity has done that

I hope i have answereed some of your questions
God Bless you Bro

Paganism does have overlaps with Christian beliefs.

Jesus was the culmination of God's communication with mandkind. God had communicated with us in various ways long before Jesus.

I would like to know what is the evidence fior your statement
the pagan male horned god was taken and made into your devil/satan dude.

Leviticus 20:13 "The penalty for homosexual acts is death to both parties. They have committed a detestable act and are guilty of a capital offense.

Of course there is misunderstanding by men about just nearly every truth there us, but I don't see paganism as Creator of the intelligent and awesome designed universe we live in. God has made all the things we see of the unseen, and it has not been all that long ago that the science of mankind discovered this fact with a microscope and then later that all matter is compsed of elements even smaller than atoms....
PAganism is worship of the creation instead of the Creator - making up false gods that God tells us to not put before Him.
Now homosexuality gets a lot attention as a sin because it is a lust of the flesh and associated with sex. All people have some sin that they are weak to, whether it is overating, selfishness, hatred, and the list goes on. People desire these sins that are only temporary to the Agape love that God wants all mankind to learn and grow in. Sexual love, "eros", is the selfish love of the flesh, and we are supposed to actually learn to die to the temporary and learn to look forward to and prepare for the eternal qualities of hope, faith, and love. These are the things of God, along with the fruits of His Spirit which are, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22,23). The works of the flesh are opposite of them: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin (Gal. 5:19-21).
God tells us that HIs blessing and growth occurs between male and female - where the commitment and love that He desires in man is supposed to take place. If we go against His will, we suffer the consequences- including worshipping false gods....

Ok fair enough, but what about this. I have Pagan Relgious Texts to quote from. Now this book is the greatest compilation of Pagan history and practice. He spent years of historical and witchcraft spells research.

He is probably one of the few reasons why The Craft (Witchcraft) still exists today. Otherwise, it might have been a lost religion.

This is the guide that you would reference from. And even he uses sources from historical documents and other sources. So if you wanna argue against this, you're going to have to go argue with either the Wiccan-Forums or argue with Raymond Buckland himself. Which would be like arguing with the Pope about Christianity/Catholicism.

Buckland's Complete Guide to Witchcraft said:
... when Christianity was slowly growing in strength, the Old Religion-the Wiccans and other Pagans-was on of its rivals. It is only natural to want to get rid of a rival and the Church pulled no punches to do just that. It has frequently been said the gods of an old religion become the devils of a new. This was certainly the case here. The God of the Old Religion was a horned god. So, apparently, was the Christian's Devil. Obviously then, reasoned the Church, the Pagans were Devil worshipers! This type of reasoning is used by the Church even today.

And also, in reguards to homosexuality, I didn't choose to be sexually attracted to the fellow male kind. That's just the way I am. It's a chemical embanlance or something. Nothing that anybody did wrong. So you guys are saying that being gay is a sin, when in fact, any gay or bisexual individual will tell you that they just happen to be sexually attracted to the fellow sex. It's not something that we choose. Why can't you guys understand that? It's so simple, but you make it seem like I choose to be like that.

Buckland's Complete Guide to Witchcraft said:
A musical genius, composing concertos at the age of five (as did Mozart), is obviously carrying over knowledge from one lifetime into the next. This does not usually happen, but it can. In the same way, homosexuality might well be explained through reincarnation: a person male in one lifetime and then female in the next (or visa versa) might have carried over feelings and preferences from one life to the next.
