And when did I say I don't believe in God?if you don't believe in God, then you can't have mental peace. what are you placing your hope in?
So how does that mean I don't believe in God? And how does that make someone unregenerate?this will do just fine
well it's a question of authority. if God and the bible are my authority then i will believe them and live by them. they would say you are unregenerate. belief in a god and belief in the God are two different things. So how does that mean I don't believe in God? And how does that make someone unregenerate?
So if I believe in your God and believe in another God as well.....it would make me an unregenerate/dissolute? I am sorry but I am not going to believe in such a thing. You can feel happy calling others whatever you want and maligning them.....it doesn't make any difference to me. Period!well it's a question of authority. if God and the bible are my authority then i will believe them and live by them. they would say you are unregenerate. belief in a god and belief in the God are two different things.
I don't think he intended to malign you, but he's talking about a theological concept which may or may not be true in terms of intellectual assent. I'm not sure how appropriate it is to bring that into the discussion, though. So if I believe in your God and believe in another God as well.....it would make me an unregenerate/dissolute? it may not be, but as a christian should i not inform her what her prayers mean if there is no God behind those prayers? i think paul would have.I don't think he intended to malign you, but he's talking about a theological concept which may or may not be true in terms of intellectual assent. By all means you should. But there are easier and more clear ways of doing it that don't imply alienating your potential audience from the outset.it may not be, but as a christian should i not inform her what her prayers mean if there is no God behind those prayers? i think paul would have.
He was calling me an unregenerate and even though it is a theological concept he put it in very maligning way.I don't think he intended to malign you, but he's talking about a theological concept which may or may not be true in terms of intellectual assent. He indirectly means that since I am not a Christian I have no right to pray to his God and I don't know how many of you here think this way.By all means you should. But there are easier and more clear ways of doing it that don't imply alienating your potential audience from the outset.
By respect to it's nature in theology, it can be rather ambiguous when people use it in daily conversation. He was calling me an unregenerate and even though it is a theological concept he put it in very maligning way.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.He indirectly means that since I am not a Christian I have no right to pray to his God and I don't know how many of you here think this way.
Thank you6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
(Hebrews 11)
I wouldn't question that you believe that He is, or that you seek Him, since you did come here asking about prayer.![]()
you can take it that way but it wasn't meant that. i was stating it as truth and not as an attack, but sometimes the truth attacks people's beliefsHe was calling me an unregenerate and even though it is a theological concept he put it in very maligning way.
yes this is what i meantBy respect to it's nature in theology, it can be rather ambiguous when people use it in daily conversation.
In Christian terminology, an unregenerate person can still be morally good, but be unregenerate in terms of salvation. That is to say, their character is still extensively depraved (as opposed to intensively). It's a tricky thing and I'd rather not get into a discussion on this thread for fear of both making things worse (possibly), and derailing the thread.![]()
i didn't say you have no right to pray to my God. i was saying that according to my beliefs you would need to believe in that God to get the desired out of your prayer. He indirectly means that since I am not a Christian I have no right to pray to his God and I don't know how many of you here think this way.
it's not about feeling happy. i think i have better things to do than to say something that you don't like on here. with respect to the other part. if you believed something then you would follow it right? well i believe the bible so i believe other beliefs are wrong. that's not shallow. it's my beliefsI, in million years is not going to believe that people can be called unregenerate on this basis. A person who is not bad at will no matter whatever God he believes in, can't be an unregenerate. And according to your criteria, people who do not follow a particular God at all are unregenerate, it sounds very shallow no offence.
And Like I said, You can feel happy calling others whatever you want and maligning them.....it doesn't make any difference to me. Period!
