  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayers for you and your family. My Dad has always told me, "when I die do not cry for me, be happy for I am now home with the Lord Jesus."

Deep down when the day comes for the Lord to take anyone of my parents, I know I will cry for I will miss them until we are rejoined again in heaven.

Dearest Tony, how my heart aches for you! You feel the loss and will do for a long time, I'm sure, but remember where where your dad is and rejoice in that. I know you do, but it's worth being reminded!
I've posted you this song because I think it's also worth remembering. God bless you both and comfort you with His ever loving arms!

There is a day that all creation's waiting for.
A day of freedom and liberation for the earth.

And on that day the Lord will come to meet His bride
And when we see Him in an instant we'll be changed.

The trumpet sounds and the dead
Will then be raised by His power never to perish again
Once only flesh, now clothed with immortality.
Death has now been swallowed up in victory.

So lift your eyes to the things as yet unseen
That will remain now for all eternity.
Though troubles hard, it's only momentary
And it's achieving all our future glory

We will meet Him in the air
And then we will be like Him
For we will see Him as He is
Then all hurt and pain will cease
And we'll be with Him forever.
And in His glory we will live.

Hello, precious ones-
We are here this sad Monday morning, feeling still pretty exhausted, but here.

We thank you all again for your precious words to us, and the song was so pretty, Flaglady! I just printed it off.

Dad's service was so beautiful. He looked very peaceful and happy in his old "house". The casket was the most stunning color I'd ever seen! It was a sahara gold color. Of course, our hearts are broken but mending, and an ocean of tears have come forth these past dark days, but we look forward to the big family reunion with them at the Lord's table one wonderful and glorious day!

God Bless All,
Love,
Tony & Barb

Hi Tony,
I am sure your dad's service was really special. I'm sure you remember when your mom died that the grieving takes a long, long time. Remember that we are here and are praying for you. We will continue to uphold you in prayer for many months to come. Tears are very good for your soul.

Thanks so much, mommysue, Larry and family.

I'm doing better. When I wake up every a.m., it kind of hits me all over again like I'm just now finding it out. Floods of memories sweep through my heart every day, flashbacks of life with my dad--it really is just blowing me away some days. I know memories are good, but for me, I feel sad in knowing the fellow I lived those with, is gone. But, I will see him again one day too, so that brings me back out of it.
