I love cycling. I have only been riding for four years but have done a lot in that time. I ride a Specialized Tarmac pro full carbon fiber. I have ridden several centuries and been in a number of rides and races though I am over 60.
This last Sept I rode 800 km in 6 days across the province of Manitoba riding between the churches in my denomination all by myself. It was a fun ride.
Altogether I put over 7000 km on my bike outside this last year.
Glad to find a christian group of cyclist I can get to know.

oh hey every one, good to have this thread back, I am still riding, came 6th in a state title team pursuit on the track the other day with lads who are more up and coming, and am enjoying helping other lads and lasses get better on bikes. I am going to do a half ironman next month, and have learnt to run and swim over the last few months (well running the start of the year really).

I'm mainly a road biker, but live in a mountain bike paradise (at least in the summer), so I'm trying to get a bit better at the technical off road stuff. They're building a skills park right behind my office so I should be able to get in a lot of practice. Right now, though, my road bike is on the trainer in the living room since the snow has started to fly...and the skis are coming out!

I don't know if 1spd is still around, but the bike pics were great, loved seeing the Merlin. I ride a Trek Roubaix now, had to move back to a mens' frame because I just couldn't get my Motobecane women's specific to fit. I've also got a decent older hardtail mountain bike, and am on the lookout for a fairly vintage Colnago. I lost one in a wreck years ago, and want to get back on one someday.

It is the best period of time for people to go out for some fun. More outdoor sports mean more health. If you are with your families or friends, that is also a good chance to make your relationships closed, when all of you are hiking, climbing mountains, fishing, swimming etc. So let us follow the sun and find the fun in the Spring.

Hi all
Happy New Year! I trust you had a great holiday season and are looking forward to 2013 and all that it has to offer. May God bless you and be a blessing to others through you this year.

I wanted to write and let you know about something. I have written a book. The Title is “Catch the Draft: Important life Lessons I learned from Cycling”. I published it on Kindle. It is just a short book but it is only the first in a series on “Catch the Draft”. The others will go into more detail on some of the chapters in the first book.

It is not a book on cycling but the life lessons I’ve learned from cycling. But I tell stories about my cycling throughout the book.
If you don’t have a kindle reader you can download a kindle app for your pc or ipad or Mac whatever, for free at Amazon, Kindle.
I have the book on a special price right now for only .99c. The regular price will probably be 2.99. If you are interested you can see and buy the book by going to Amazon and then kindle books and searching the title "Catch the Draft".

If you buy and download the book please go back to Kindle and give me a review. I am looking for reviews that is why the special price. If you like the book please also let others know.

Sorry about the pitch but I thought you might be interested. Writing like this is another new adventure for me and I am really enjoying it. Not as much as my cycling yet.

Well that’s all for now. We had a white Christmas here this year which was nice. Now I’m ready for spring.

God be with you all.
