  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When I go to the Adoption/Temporary Day Care for the cyber pets here, I notice that some of the cyber-pets are "happy" and some are not. Question: Do they arrive in that condition, or as time goes on do they become less and less "happy"? (BTW, I think it isn't fair that I can't "play" with them and cheer them up a little.)

All I know is that a person can either "buy" one or "adopt" one. The icon then appears by the person's name. The icons are either "dog", "cat", "turtle", "snail", or "spider". Oh, the pet has a name. Then the person has to balance the pet's "hunger", "happiness", and "pleasure" to measure it's "health". The person can go to the "cyber-pet store" and get food or some item to give the pet "pleasure" points. A cyber-veterinarian exists too and I think "health injections" can be bought. It seems that anyone can "play" with the cyber-pet to increase "happiness" points--that is unless the pet is up for adoption or in temporary Day Care or is sick.

The features on the icon change. When the pet is perfectly healthy and happy, it has a big grin and sometimes a tongue sticks out. As it's "hunger" increases, or it's "happiness" or "pleasure" decreases, the "smile" gets less and less (sometimes an eye will close too) until it's mouth is just a straight line. And when the "cyber pet" is sick (and about to die) it has little x's for eyes.

There are a few members that post on OBOB that have "cyber-pets" (nyj has a "turtle" named "Derek"). Perhaps they can tell you more.
