mel, you are not stupid, no matter what anyone says, ive battled with SI for almost 2 years now and my parents thinkg i stopped 1 1/2 years ago, it know its so addictive which is the reason i wont say youll get over it, it is a chemical addiction, you body releases certain chemicals which it then craves

try these if you are tempted
-try to aviod being alone
-red pen, textas, ink, just draw on your arm, leg, piece of paper (no tracing tho )
-write down yur feelings

I always thought I was stupid for doing it but my councilllor is trying to convince me that whilst it's not the most healthy coping mechanism it is one way of dealing with hurt and anger. I'm glad that you are seeing someone about it, I know that it is helping me
