CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

cussing is one of the signs of rebellion and personality dividing, satan has a job to do and its dividing you into two separate people, one is the one you originally were, and the other is the one he is leading you to be.
he likes to bring these two personalities to opposite sides of the spectrum, getting you to lead a double life, over time you will tire of this long running facade and will chose one or the other
since its easier to live the life of freedom and to indulge and cuss, it is usually this life that is chosen, and the original life is given up, the original life was the one where you were yourself with your parents, you acted respectfully and tried to please them
the other is the life you became among your friends and people that knew you, if your parents would be shocked if they seen film footage of how you talk and act when you are not in their presence, then you should be completely aware satan is well on his way to dividing your personality, you are in respect a multiple personality disorder........actually he's behind that curtian as well

Firstly, I believe that particular words that some people may believe are swear words are no longer swear words. A good rule of the thumb, if it is published in the media it is no longer considered a swear word; liberal media, not conservative media.
I swear often, and I swear well. I do not fudge my swear words often. Everyone knows the meaning behind the fudged words, including children under 10. So why fudge them for? However, by saying that I do know when to not swear.

I sometimes actually say "bleep" instead of the word that might go in its place. Like "bleep that." I also use the word "twinkie" in place of the word others might use for people who do stupid stuff or that take advantage of people.
Honestly, I'll be frank. Let's face it- Christians judge other Christians by whether they cuss or not. A lot of times Christians might think the other person is backslid or not a Christian if the person uses cuss words regularly. I know that it's the context in which words are used that determines whether they are evil/harmful or not, but a lot of Christians don't know this and so judge people indiscriminately. Because of this, I try to play the game of keeping my mouth Christian-kosher while around conservative Christians, while letting myself be more real while alone or with some of my non-Christian acquaintances, but it can be a hard game to play well. Eventually a person is going to be not thinking and let one slip. But until I figure out what is really the best direction to take, I'll still play the game.
