Cussing in Christian Rap....

In my opinion, I don't think God will strike the rapper in question down. Not at all. However, he shouldn't be surprised when the Christian community is harsh.

Now, if I were him I'd rather be honest than pander to a flawed religious market. So more power to him.

I wouldn't be a fan of a Christian swearing just to appeal to a certain market. That is a compromise. But I would think the same if they changed their sound to appeal to so and so, or changed their look to appeal to so and so. And not just Christians-- any artist doing things purely to appeal to a specific market is not really art.

I didn't expect such a huge debate. Me personally, I know that cussing is wrong but the reasons why he chose to put them in was to become totally transparent. I mean honestly guys, if you are having a bad day or you accidently stub your toe....aren't you reluctant to say some obscenity? The context of his cussing in his one song was talking about how that he has to be reminded that he isn't the sh** but that God is doing it all. He just wants to be transparent and I think thats what we need nowadays. Too many people nowadays are Christians but aren't transparent. The whole song is uplifting and I think thats what is more important. It's not about that one word but the overall message. Sure we want it clean but the message is also important.

Wait wait wait..just because somebody cusses doesn't mean they aren't really a Christian! Swearing ain't that bad to me..if somebody wants to speak their mind, I'd rather them be honest, and keep it real and don't hold back.......and if it helps them to communicate their message better, then go for it in my opinion!
