What on earth are you on about? I'm no anti-Semite, and I didn't spend a thread mocking your beliefs. If your insulted by my Christian assertions that the Law is outdated by Christ's death, that's not my problem- take it up with the NT.

You know what? You're correct. I had you mixed up with another poster, so I apologize for that. I hope you can accept my apology.

Can the people who feels the Bible is against current cuss words please explain WHY it is wrong? Sure we say it's filthy and wrong but explain how a word on it's own is in anyway what the Bible talks about? It says, crude, obscene, etc etc but what of those words is that wrong on it's own?

I've tried to say ok God please help me to swear any more but its like, I don't even know why I should care in the first place since in the context I use them there is absolutely nothing wrong and I don't think God is shaped by current social standards.

So explain for example, why the "S" word is any more wrong than crap, poop, junk etc. It's original meaning comes from the middle ages and basically meant feces/human waste/etc. So why is that one wrong? The F bomb I understand a little bit more but even saying sex generally is not wrong unless you're being crude while using or describing sex. So why is "What the $(@!" worse than saying "what the heck?"

I'm not being smart, I honestly wanna know cause as I see it, it's just a bunch of baby games. I couldn't say shut up or stupid in first grade. I don't think anyone thinks those are swear words... not nice maybe but just saying "that is so stupid" is not wrong. Yet we think something like "that's so #(@!ed up" is? What is filthy with words themselves?
Sort of like when one becomes a Christian, we've got to put off some former things, our speech should change, we all fail at many things, but we should encourage each other to try. We've got to talk with grace and salt, with grace is like treating others as God treated us, ie. when someone says talks nastily to us, answer with kindness. With salt is like not talking as the world talks anymore, ie. not blaspheming or swearing. How will anyone know we are different, that Christ changed us, if we talk just the same as the world?
There are some pointers in Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." and 1 Peter 4:11 "If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God." would God swear? Is swearing edifying? Is it necessary? Is it gracious? Is it salt, does it stop the decay in the world? When we don't swear, people notice, they wonder why, they might ask ... it provides a chance to tell them.

No problem. I'm just glad you're not part of the epidemic of posters who like to put words in people's mouths. :D
