hey Breetai how is pc gaming in japan is it populare?
Popular? No, not really. PC gaming was extremely popular in Korea when I lived there, but it's never really caught on so much in Japan.

...or do ppl mostly play consoles.
Playstation, Nintendo, horse racing games and pachinko :) are king here. Card battle games are quite popular, too.

Over here in US pc games are populare like first person shooters and death match just wondering how the market is over in japan.
FPS games, actually most genres other than online RPGs, are actually more popular on consoles in The USA as well. It's the same in Japan in that console games are more popular than PC games. Unlike in America, FPS games aren't so popular in Japan. RPGs, action games like "Dynasty Warriors", fighting games, puzzle games and sports games like baseball and football(soccer) are the most popular. Halo 3, for example, was NOT really a top-seller here. Dynasty Warriors 6, Winning Eleven Football(Pro Evolution Soccer), anything for the DS, and Super Smash Brothers X fly off the shelves here.

It never fails to frustrate me how cool some of the games in Japan look, but never get ported to the US. While some systems are region free, the language barrier is pretty crucial for RPGs and such...
On the other hand, the GTA games, for example, have taken between one and TWO YEARS to get ported to Japan!

I'm playing The Orange Box, specifically Half Life 2: Episode Two. I rented it from Gamefly a few months ago and I never got around to playing it, or rather I just kept putting it off. Now I'm sorry I had cause this is really enjoyable. :D

I just got Sins of a Solar Empire two weeks ago and I can't put it down.... great game. Nice strategic element and just cool to be in control and go to battle. Great game. Also am about to pick up the newest Warhammer 40k game. Played the demo and being my first foray into the Warhammer 40k RTS games I was blown away by the sheer destructiveness and action that happens. Lastly I've been hitting up my copy of Orange Box as well... specifically Team Fortress 2. Very fun, fast pace shoot 'em up game. ** Wow, didn't know that I was going to get a banner. *blush*
