curious and seeking a course

hi,
i live in london, england, and am at the stage of being curious about christianity. i have read about things like the alpha courses and would be interested in doing one but my work pattern doesn't allow me to commit to any kind of regular weekly activity. i'd be interested to hear if anyone knows of any more intensive activity for newbies. i'm familiar with the bible from religious studies at school so i wouldn't be looking for a complete beginners guide to the bible type of thing, more a why i should become a christian session. i'm assuming there must be some kind of weekend/one-day type courses around somewhere.

Check out The Rebelution if you're interested in more immersion than education.

Christianity has a theology. But it is a way of life. I don't know enough about the website (see the age criteria and my age), but as a youth worker I've been gratified by the effect it's had on people I know.

If you're not quite up to that, if you're just looking for overview, Wright's "Simply Christian" is pretty good. Lewis' "Mere Christianity" is also classic.
