  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OK, so I'm a huge fan of The Cure. I have been following the band for well over ten years, have all the albums, most of the singles, have seen them live about 12 times,...and I listen to their music every day. I have just bought the 4CD single collection. I'm watching the Trilogy DVD at the moment - awesome!

Are there any fans out there? Please post! :p

I love the Cure:). I'm not as crazy about them as you are, but I think that Robert Smith just might be a genius. Since I haven't listened to them in at least a week, I'll put them on.

It gets to friday and I give you a call
You know I’m getting kind of worried
No she doesnt seem herself at all...

I had the best laid plans this side of america
Started out in church and finished with angelica
Red and blue soul with a snow white smile
Can you dig it?

I like 'em. "Just Like Heaven" has always been my favorite of their's.

It's my favorite too and therefore favorite song of all time. My Cure top ten would be:-

Just Like Heaven
Fascination Street
End
A Night Like This
Primary
One Hundred Years
A Forest
Bloodflowers
The Last Day of Summer
Prayers for Rain

I love The Cure. probably one of my "defining" bands in terms of my musical life, and life in general. For some reason lately I've been really digging "Wrong Number"
Someone else who really digs Wrong Number! It's a newer Cure song, so I don't think that it's as popular.

Well I bought the new album today..what sort of a fan am I, its been out for all of 6 days...anyway, the first two tracks (Lost, Labyrinth) are amazing but also some not so good tracks lurking there. Will need to listen to in depth over the next few weeks before I can provide a critical assessment to anyone thats interested...

["Anniversary" is also excellent].
