  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, so now there's yet another cult compound where kids have been removed from the premesis.
This latest one is a man who claims he's the Messiah and of course, he needs to sleep with the women there becuz "God" told Him to...

What type of people believe this poop and what can authorities do to help protect the innocent who are abused there?

Set the building on fire? ...or shoot them down. Not suggesting it, but that is just how they deal with it.

You sure you want them deciding on who lives and who dies? What is a "cult" compound and what isn't in their opinion?

Well, you could say it is spiritual abuse, but in order to legally define that you need to have a state religion. And we all know how well those have worked out historically.

I guess the best we can do is ban things like sexual exploitation of minors. There's only so much you can do in a free society.

We're not in Dawkins' dream state yet, thankfully.
Hmm? Don’t follow…
Go to most any public/state school, Darwinism/Evolution is taught and all other views are prohibited. Christian monuments are taken down. Government buildings stripped of 10 commandments, crosses, bible verses etc. State religion is Darwinism, that is apparent, I remember the transition from grade school principle praying daily to Jesus over the PA to what we have now where students are unplugged from the podium mic for saying a prayer at graduation ceremonies. It’s us 6 day creationists that are the cult, that are the threat, so they think.
This isn’t the Republican safe-house, thankfully.

Like your sig says "If you will not hear the truth....."
(for people not ready for it)
The government's track record is far far worse than almost any cult.
They hurt more people than any other entity in the united states, except for drugmakers.
The record on public file of the number hurt in government control is staggering, and far far outweighs 90% or more of the individuals and /or the socalled cults that they accost.
The authorities who actually COULD HELP, basically have their hands tied - the POLICE Actually could help, but are tromped on by other gov agencies.
The Police do far less harm than the other gov agencies, as shown clearly and overwhelmingly in publicly available records , court documents, and other public (and private) reports.

i.e. the government gets a F- totally failing grade, by their own measure.
so,
what do they do? (ask for more money, which makes them much worse if /when they get it)

NO WHERE in Scriptrue does it ever say,
IT NEVER SAYS - trust the gov..NEVER

So, the authorities usually cannot do anything to help, but if there is
an individual who is doing what is right(like SHINDLER'S LIST)
they might accomplish some.

This is the biggest bunch of hooey I've ever seen anyone post. I'm sure you have personal reasons for disliking CPS or whatever they call it in your state, but that's no reason to outrageously distort the statistics. If even one child is hurt or emotionally/spiritually damaged in foster care, it is one child too many. If even one child is removed without reasonable cause from their parents' homes, that's one child too many. But the overwhelming number of kids in CPS care are far better off than they would be if left in the care of the people who are supposed to love them and provide for them. Unfortunately, far too many parents use, abuse and discard their children, taking their own pitiful excuses for lives out on the kids in sexual, physical, emotional or spiritual abuse. Unfortunately there are bizarre, sick miscreants out there who disguise pedophilia with "religion" and force young girls to marry someone old enough to be their grandfather. You do not leave children in that environment, even if you have no direct evidence that one particular girl has been subjected to that horror.

On the other hand, if an over-zealous social worker removes a child from a home who really shouldn't be, it eventually gets straightened out. Probably not soon enough, certainly not without emotional stress on the child and the parent. But I'd rather that happen occasionally (though I'd prefer it didn't happen at all) than I would what happened in Colorado last year. Thirteen darling, perfect little creations of God died at the hands of their parents because the Colorado Child Protective Services Agency decided they needed to err on the side of "family" rather than cause the distress of removing the child. Well, stress is stress, but you can recover from it. Dead is dead.

Oh yeah: Number of deaths in foster care in Colorado last year? Zero.

Richard Dawkins is a biologist and hardline atheist. He has stated that teaching your children religion constitutes child abuse. Fortunately, he and those that think like him do not have any political power.

Are you talking about children or grown women?

If' it's children or teens I'd lock him up and throw away the key!!!!!!! Personally the death penalty would be OK for a guy like that in my eyes.

Now if your talking about grown women, well their just plain stupid or have been worshiping evil thoughts and ideas for so long they've chosen to go along with a lie. I believe the Holy Spirit would be trying to convict someone of the falsehood of their religion so on some level they have willfully denied God. It's their choice and it's sick, but if they are adults I'm not sure there is anything society could do about it. Local churches in that area should certainly lead some prayer vigils to combat the evil that is going on in that cult. God has more power to defeat situations like this than man does.

Agreed, and that's what she's talking about. However, there's another side to this story:
Now if your talking about grown women, well their just plain stupid or have been worshiping evil thoughts and ideas for so long they've chosen to go along with a lie.
The problem is, they don't believe it is a lie because it all they've ever heard. This sicko has these girls raised to believe he is who he claims to be. They have no alternative information. They may be grown women now, but at one time they were the teens who were abused by this ... this ... "cult." I want to say something else but the site will print out multiple "wash my mouth" brackets.
I believe the Holy Spirit would be trying to convict someone of the falsehood of their religion so on some level they have willfully denied God.
He does, if they know Him. These poor women don't know Him. They've been taught a false gospel and don't know any better.
Local churches in that area should certainly lead some prayer vigils to combat the evil that is going on in that cult. God has more power to defeat situations like this than man does.
Absolutely He does. The prayer vigils are being held, I'm sure. Fox News did a feature on these folks yesterday. The surrounding community knows about the cult, saying they "keep to themselves and don't mix with others." Gee, why am I not surprised? But without interaction, you're right -- it takes either Divine Intervention, or a raid by the sheriff and CPS. As it happens, this time it was the latter. The guy ran. They arrested him somewhere out of state (can't remember where) and he's waiving extradition. How thoughtful of him, saving the taxpayers' money.

I have not heard anything about this, we don't have TV so I am usually a day behind

I think if your talking about grown women who were once abused and brainwashed as children then you have to consider the problem from it's earliest beginning - as abused children, now women who need rescueing or at the very least evaluating in case they are being held against their will, even if the confinement is done with lies.

If he was abusing them as youths and they were raised into this, then he's still abusing the next generation of girls and it must stop.

However, being raised to believe something doesn't make the Holy Spirit's presence and influence absent from someones life. As my family tried on different faiths and beliefs when I was a kid God kept me true to Him even as a child. I don't know that I could explain it, but God spoke to my heart and let me know He was the only God and that the other religions my parents "tried on" were false. Our Lord can reach even those who haven't heard the truth. I still believe it is societies responsibility to step in and stop abuse though, especially where children are concerned, even if they are grown now.

I can't help but wonder if God has a special place in heaven for evil people like this cult leader? One that is perhaps closer to the heat source!

The Bible does talk about people following false christs. If I remember right it's supposed to be more common in the last days.
