  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cub Scouts meet in their dens once each week, and a pack meeting is held for all Cub Scouts and their families once a month. Beyond that, it depends on the den and pack: a den may hold a special activity, such as a service project or visit to a local museum in place of one of the weekly meetings or in addition to the weekly meetings. Likewise, a pack may conduct a special event such as a blue and gold banquet as an additional event, rather than a substitute for its monthly pack meeting.

My son is in Cub Scouts. He looks forward to it every week. Our pack had a camping outing about a month ago, and it was really great! I love what the boys are taught, and that the parents are invloved. I was a little worried at first about the schedule also, with homework/school, but with our pack the meeting is on Monday night at 7:00 and its over in about 45 min. I am glad that we decided to get our son in Cub Scouts, he has learned alot, and his father and I have too.

I guess I do :)
How much time does it involve? Kiddo's are in AWANA and Sunday school requires home at work during the week. I don't want to over-involve him.

Our pack had more going on than I expected. Like Nicki said there were 2 meetings a month and other activities. It seemed like there was always something going on. We didn't do everything. During basketball season we didn't do hardly anything because of scheduling conflicts. Nobody gave us a hard time. We did what we could. One thing I really liked was that siblings were always included in activites.
