[FONT=&quot]The concept of curriculum is defined and curricular models and theories are examined. Participants analyze the process of curriculum development from a theoretical framework and examine the relationship between curriculum and instruction. Students will understand the stages of adolescent development including physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth and develop the ability to relate middle level program possibilities to adolescent developmental needs. Utilizing the components of contemporary middle level schools; students will create appropriate curriculum[/FONT][FONT=&quot] [/FONT][FONT=&quot]units, exploratory courses, and advisory programs.
