  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does the sound of food being crunched irritate anyone else the way it does me? I know it's hard to NOT make some sound when you're eating. For some odd reason the sound of crunching and munching is the equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard for me. And don't get me started on gum popping. Yeeeeek! DH is in the living room eating a bowl of cereal right now and I hope he finishes soon:clap:(I love 'im though:)).

Dunno if it helps any,but it could be worse, he could be doing it with his mouth open like my ILS :)

I am on my way to my ILs house where they all chew like an open mouth room full of first graders, I am so not looking forward to meals this weekend.

Actually I have found it is better when at a restaurant, the background noise of clinking and such drowns out the noise of lip smacking and such. But it ain't cheap.

Yeah, if I hear someone in the store popping their gum...I just have to get out of there. See? You got me started on gum-chewing;)

I wonder why I and other people are extra-sensitive to those kinds of sounds. One person told me it is because I am not being loving:scratch:. Well, it's true, I get kind of irritated, but let me tell you, if it was so easy to get over it, I really would! I don't enjoy being a crab about it.

Well I much prefer the practice when it is my DCs rather than my adult ILs!

Sometimes when he was practicing closing his mouth and DD was just learning to eat, it was hard! But I imagine the picture of him one day telling MIL to close her mouth and oh it is sweet! But not nice I guess :(. Actually I think I will have to wait for DD to get there, DS isn't much for reminding anyone (including himself) of the rules.
