You're not seriously trying to justify the subjugation of an entire race of Americans with the argument that others have done similar things, are you?

Ok...so not empire building. You're talking specifically about laws and practices that discriminated against non-whites.

Would it surprise you to find whites also discriminated against whites?

Once again white supremecy is NOT being denied. And no one is saying white supreme y is over. Cause there are white supremacists out there saying it's not.

It's not a justification. I'm simply pointing out that such behavior is true of all humans in history....so I don't see why we would call it "white supremacy".

It is called "white supremacy" when the basis for the unequal treatment is whiteness.

And about the wider extent of the appeal of groups like that? And about the effects of that appeal that are still visible today? If you have no problem telling children about that, then you have no problem with CRT.

I said that CRT, meaning the graduate level course that has been studied for decades, is not generally taught in elementary, middle, or high school. But a more age-appropriate teaching of a similar concept may very well be taught in some places. But it is not CRT. The outrage is over a supposedly wide-spread problem. However no evidence of a wide-spread problem has been shown. Since you are unable to provide a primary source for the one "smoking gun" screenshot that you are staking your whole argument on, we really don't have anything to go on except the manufactured outrage from groups hoping to benefit politically from it.

I've never heard you call it asian supremacy. China is colonizing Africa right now. I've never heard you call the thriving slave trade happening right now in Libya "black supremacy".

I don't intend to teach it. My field is literature, not social studies. I can discuss race and racism in the literature without a government mandated "but that was in the past; everything is perfect now!" And still keep my job.

Still wondering how changing my race (as if I could) would help me teach... surely you had a reason for suggesting it?
