The movie Jurassic Park is good fun, silly Steven Spielberg schlock. The dinosaurs are over the top, but looks really good for the time. No, I haven't, and every conversation like this confirms my decision to stay away from it![]()
The book by Michael Crichton is okay... and has less of the annoying anti science ranting and conspiracy theories I've seen in most of his other books.
Yeah, my bad. My brain mixed up a little real data, and images of modern bird feet with fictional movie dinosaurs.OK, I read that abstract and it doesn't say anything about opposability anywhere, only grasping. (I can comfortably grasp many objects without using my thumb; I don't think the two are the same.) Does it have an associated paper?
Yeah, it's disappointing to shift my mental image of them from wolves or chimps back to komodo dragons or vultures.Ah, yes. I had a real fright when you mentioned sociality. I thought you were thinking of the old "Deinonychus hunted in packs" meme
I remember how disappointed I was when I read the second paper. Oh well, we still have Harris hawks for consolation!
