  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I LOVE to cross stitch. I wish I had more time to do it.. I have a 9 month old so by the time he gets laid down, I check my messages, then off to bed!
I particularly like Lavender And Lace.

Anyone else cross stitch?

Patience :)
I love Lavender and Lace! A few months ago I finished "Angel of Mercy." There was plenty of beadwork on it, which I love the look of.

I also like Marjolein Bastin.

I love to cross stitch! I don't have any favorite designers, I just buy what's on clearance at Michaels (only once have I bought a full price kit, and only cause my hubby was in love w/ the design and he said it was ok to buy... otherwise I am a bargain bin only girl). I have so many projects I'm 'in the middle of'... the one I'm working on now I can't just lay down and forget about cause it's special for a new addition in our family. I don't like Pooh but that's what his mommy picked... it was on clearance at Michaels and it was on the other side of the store from the cross stitch aisle, so I was lucky to find it... it was a 30 dollar kit that I got for 5 bucks... so I'm happy about that for sure!

Hi, I'm one your oldies and I've been stitching for over 30 years and I love it.
We have a X Stitch Club at our church and we make bookmarks for the hymn books (50% disappear over the year so we are always doing new ones). We have also made a stole for one of our pastors and a silhouette picture for another of our pastors. We also make cards and bookmarks to raise money for church funds. We also have a good cuppa and gossip at the same time ... great.

You're right, Mirabilia designs are gorgeous. I've heard other people talk about them too. There are quite a few places on-line that sell them, I'll have to order me some.

I'm a cross stitcher too :) I don't have a particularly favorite designer, I like a wide variety. I've been stitching for over three years now. Here's my first one (I've finished many more after this one ^_^ but I am proudest of this one):
